Thats what I thought the issue was. Is there any way to increase how often particles are emitted to make the gaps smaller?

yes, you can change how many total particles are allowed, or decrease their lifetimes so they despawn faster (and allow more new ones to spawn)

this is how it looks with decreased lifetime, i don't know what you mean by change total allowed. if you mean amount i've already tried changing it but it dosent do anything
