Looks pretty cool. Gotta ask, What are the controls used for aiming?
Aiming is done by partially placing the enemy between the white lines (automatic aiming field).
When the enemy is inside the white lines and you hold the shot, the character will quickly automatically aim at the enemy.
That shooting range can be increased during the game.
Gotcha, I was imagining it to be more like Police Stories where you aim with the mouse to fire in one specific direction. Will it still use the mouse to turn where the player faces, or is that wasd?
It is played with a controller, the mouse/keys is not implemented.
You can use the controller's D-Pad to move the character or the analog stick.
👍
Testing tiles for the "mine" phase. For the ground, for the walls etc...
I like the look I got with these, I tried several soils, sandy, smooth like asphalt, I think I definitely like this one and it will be the one chosen.
We still need to create the shadow of the door and some other small details.
John W. Beans.
big fan of the artstyle!! love the oldschool color palette
Right now, I’m adding decorations to the last level of my game. The most recent addition is this small fire extinguisher; at first, I used a red that was too bright, but since the extinguisher doesn’t have any effect and is just set dressing, I changed it to a less saturated red so it wouldn’t draw too much attention from the player.
There are no enemies visible because these screenshots are from tests related to the background graphics.
Once I finish this area of the final level, I’ll send it to a publisher.
I'm still working on it. I'm now working on the final level.
Here you can see part of the look of the last level. I'm creating some additional graphics for decoration, but I'm almost done.
The player arrives at this room after previously obtaining clues about a riddle related to these symbols. Here, the symbols are presented to the player with the goal of memorizing them and solving this brief puzzle in the game.
I’m currently working on the illustration for the game, which I’ll later use for the Steam and console banners. I’m not an illustrator, so I’m doing my best! It’s a WIP, and several elements are still missing: the background, the foreground ship, the enemy on the left, and some fine detail polishing.
I’m using Krita and some AI-generated images as reference. I’m also using the same color palette as the game — the Master System palette — to keep everything consistent.
