Hello everyone, I have finally published my first game on the google play store. I'm very proud of bringing a project all the way to publication, even if its not the best game out there.
You can find the game here - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.godotengine.ashepherdsduty
Even tho I am aware of some problems it has I would still love to hear your thoughts, the good and the bad, if you decide to give it a try.
Thanks a bunch! 😄

I will take a look.
On the itch.io version, the title screen seems to require a mouse-click to start the game, even though everything else is played with the keyboard.
Also, supporting the arrow keys would be handy for people using alternative keyboard layouts.
Dark blue on black was a bit too dark for me, not sure if that's my eyes, my monitor settings, or that the game expects you to memorise the levels.
Here's my feedback:
The sound effects don't match properly with the characters, the game crashed when I tried to turn the old man into a beast wolf and there is nothing exciting about the levels, I mean, it just gets harder by adding more sheep and by moving trees around. We're in a competitive world, I hope that the project you published gives you some ideas for your next better game (I'm hoping).
Wasn't there an option for brightness and contrast?
I don't see one. The "hamburger icon" on the pause menu just returns to the title screen, and I don't see options on the title screen either.
Bruh, @civic arch, needs polish
I was not aware of that. Thank you.
The game doesn't expect you to memorise the levels, I tried finding balance with the brightness of stuff but it was kinda difficult for both keeping the night time mood and having it be comfortably bright. On my monitor I thought I found a good place but I understand it can vary. Im not sure how I would even go about testing for the many possibilities. Perhaps I should have kept the brightness and contrast sliders that are in the mobile version, also in the itchio version
Sorry it crashed... It hasn't crashed for me at all when doing that so I'm not sure what could have happened.
This project started as a neat idea but as I made it I found it to not be super fun. But I had to finish it because I felt like I had to publish something, after so many projects that have never seen the light of day. I appreciate you taking the time to play and give feedback tho
Thank you two for taking the time to play and write!
And about the sliders, those are only on mobile as I didn't realise it would be an issue for a game on a monitor
So that hamburger menu is behaving as intended
And even tho I'm very much aware of some bugs and quirks, I'm proud of having actually put something out there. This was 100% not meant to be a competitive game for the mobile market
Bro, I appreciate your encounter with our feedback, I totally understand your reasons because I also feel like I need to publish what I already started producing 😭
I don't know your project or its scope, but if its adequately small, I say stick with it.
This project was meant to be a few months tops, and while in terms of active development it took me about that much time, in terms of actual time passing its been a year and a half
But its immensely gratifying to have something yours out there. And also gets you familiar with the process of uploading to the store, and integrating ads if that's in your plan
I agree, I published a game called Roboface on the play store and I found this absolutely relatable.
