Starting with negative presentation of yourself may not be the best move.
in fact, negative points are to be avoid. Put the accent on what you bring to the project and what you need.
helloo casualgaragecoder friend, pls point where i did that so i can correct ::)
Second paragraph: You tell about your last "negative" experience.
"I've being trying [...] but its very tiring"
I know. But, to "sell" your collab, you want to attract people. And telling people "ok, i suck at coding, so i won't be of any help because i've already failed" is not appealing.
I get what you are saying lol . .. .
some could interpret that
Third Paragraph : (i'm paraphrasing) "I've done some collabs (me : successful ? which one ? can I see them ?) BUT I already know what is the problem we'll get into : everybody wants to make game design, but this part is MINE, you hear me ? MINE !"
Third and fourth paragraph actually.
Thats not what im saying at all. I am talkiing about this scenario which i'm offering.
While touching on what usually happens when everyone want to do the game design.
"In that case, you are free to give ideas, at your own expense knowing i might refuse them. So its your responsibility if i don't like your input. "
When i'm reading this, i read "You are free to give your opinion, but at the end, i decide if it sucks and will be discarded"
you read everything in the most negative perspective possible lol
let me explain
I'm saying i won't ask for ideas, because that would mean i could end up looking like i'm testing the person's creativeness, which is not the objective. Because that could lead to unnecessary disputes. I'm not putting that responsibility on the person's shoulder, i'm saying they can take that responsibility themselves knowing i might reject it. Because my role in this scenario is to do everything, except code. which will be where the person has its freedom.
sry, afk
That's the point. If I'm not understanding it well, how do you expect other people will understand it ?
Well, theres all kinds of people with different perspectives on things, you might have understood that way, some other might understand differently. But i see what you are saying as well.
Because that's how candidates read job proposal. I've done many job description to hire devs and others. If you want people to respond, you have to be careful and sell positivity and avoid any embryo of negative though.
Especially with young/just graduated people.
Even more if they're not graduated (i've read you accept up to 17yo people) : they lack of confidence and want to be reassured about the project and the whereabouts.
I did some editing, is it better now?
But, as you've said : I have a certain way to decipher job offering.
Well, give it a try.
The last paragraph is a bit harsh. But i'm a sensitive person 🙂
Nooo, don't feel like that.
ur probably above my level of skill
Have you check how job offers are structured/redacted ?
thnks for the feedback by the way
you're welcome
to be honest
i'm not seeing this as job offer exactly, even though it is
its something a bit more casual
but still serious
as it implies value production and revenue sharing, it is a job 🙂
Ye, for sure.
Lol i didn't even mention the game idea..
what a way to sell a collab proposal
The game in question is a 3D first person horror game with combat and a unique story.
It would be optimal for it to be developed in Godot 4, but that can be discussed to consider 3.5
updated
godot
everything
?
Yes
Code only, horror, 3D, Godot 4
ok
with this, you'll get more attraction than the entire announcement itself 🙂
What do you mean by "Unique Story" ?
oh, i could have worded what i wanted to say better
"The game in question is a 3D first person horror game with combat and some focus on story telling."
'cause, every project has its "Unique story" or "unique story mechanism" etc, if you see what I mean.
yeye, totally
It's no longer appealing. It's just "ok ... another 'Unique' stuff ..."
sry to say it harshly
nah, its fine
what do you meant by "this" ?
our convo?
or the resume
This = keywords
I think those key words would be good in the title
good edit changing unique story to focused on story telling.
I've just checked the job-board channel. It seems that you can set keywords.
but if you want to "export" you offer on other platforms (forums, other discords, other SM) , they (the keywords) will be important.
