Hi there! This is my first feedback post I've actually made on a discord server but I wanted to make a small feedback post about it rather than just mentioning it in the discussions with no response.
So far I love the music we have in nmrih2 even the remixes however I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of actual ambient tracks that play as opposed to the music in the first game where it felt like there was always music that impacted the atmosphere. Most of the music you hear in game is dynamic combat tracks which is good but only plays in that specific situation, the only actual ambient tracks we have are the poi music stingers which I'll link a video here https://youtu.be/FyDWb8X1gCA?si=aQbTa-W8FTa8Nprq (credit to the channel Fenrir for posting these songs)
I absolutely love these poi tracks they impact the mood and atmosphere of entering these areas but most of them play for about 5 or 15 seconds and ONLY play once in that match so why not extend most of them or add the tracks in the background whilst walking around as ambience? Let me give an example of why this is a big pet peeve of mine, one of my first matches in the original nmrih was on lakeside following teammates and being confused as to what the objective was, at one point me and two other guys were left standing, I was infected and had to press k when suddenly the track "alone" starts playing that right there was when I knew I would stick with the game and from there on out I loved it.
Meanwhile in nmrih2 walking alone on the barren, foggy streets of power plant feels bland because there is no music playing. Nothing elevating the atmosphere or tension this goes for every map in the sequel while the combat tracks are great especially hearing raindrop in broadway again we need some actual ambient music tracks that play during gameplay and not just one off music stingers for specific areas.🎵
I know its not the most important thing the game needs but I've seen other people share the same sentiment
