Greetings responders, as many of you know, recently we received some announcements regarding the game's future, while most of those were good news, we also received two big bad news that overshadowed the rest of the announcements: The decision to not include child zombies and the reset of our progression in the 1.0 version of the game. Today I'm not here to rant about that neither to talk about the child zombies topic (there are many threads covering that). The purpose of this post and the overall idea is to talk about the progression system reset, look out for solutions that accommodate for both players and developers as well and try to reach a middle ground solution since both parties are aiming for opposite goals and for last that this suggestion serves as a feedback for the developers to understand the frustration behind the decision of reset progress. PD: Removed and edited the giant wall of text explaining the current progression system, their problems and possible fixes to them, now you can see it through here as an optional read: https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vSeUT5y2d8X5XiwDBMabbP-fYlNaG65dE8WWa2tYkXrBn8M9QcP0ktVQrNl-yZB6fOxh0_X7iW_i4Nz/pub
#What's your opinion about the Progression Reset? Suggestions and Feedback

I preferred my reward solution that offers nmrih1 specific fan service guns as a more meaningful package to offer for early testers, Which I still lack the understanding of how it would be more controversial over an xp boost or starting advantage from the perspective of newer players drawn in by the 1.0 release, because as far as I can tell when new people discover this game, they hardly know anything, or very little about NMRIH so I don't personally see the controversy of adding an SKS or FN-FAL as a more permanent and meaningful nod to original fans and early testers alike, if anything it would encourage people to test and give feedback before 1.0 and last beyond 1.0 in terms of satisfying reward, or something of that nature, Exclusive weapons are a way more fun solution then boring number tweaks.
A unique weapon it's also a cool idea to have in mind as a reward, as long as stats don't pose a threat to the game's balance and function similarly to other guns it could be (it also could be a weapon with the same stats as other gun), still i assume developers would prefer a cosmetic or a weapon cosmetic so everyone can have the possibility to have those guns (even though you can just drop them if you want or on death)
My man, apologies i was redacting the whole text in a notepad and i accidentally pinged you while i was sending the contents to the thread
That's part of the reason I believe it would be a better form of exclusive reward, you can share it with others or die with it and a person can use it, so it isn't fully locked content unlike an XP boost.
Plus it's way more fun, most games these days use too much number increase passives to compensate for gameplay, and cosmetics id only settle on that idea depending on how customization 2.0 ends up being, cause ATM the customization is lack luster and we technically got less content with it due to no hoodie (over head) being available like it was before the customization update, and I think part of the reason was cause of the hair
Too much reading F
Oh, don't worry about that, most of the text wall it was me explaining the aspects of the progression system, their problems and possible solutions but the main purpose is to talk about the progression reset announced
I don't mind reading it all but it was 1 am and i often are tired in that hour and just scroll posts, see if there is anything intresting
Too much text, Discord audience isn’t used to this. It’s TikTok era now, haha.
Hardly anyone will read it all the way through. I’ve made the same mistakes myself.
I think the reset is necessary, give a reward in the form of cosmetics for participating in Early Access and give a set amount of money for each account level.
About perks, I think there’s a thread:

What's your opinion about the Progression Reset? Suggestions and Feedback
Appreciate the feedback guys, i decided to remove the whole explanation from the comments and i make it a document for an optional read
I agree with most of this but i don't think giving credits back will be a good reward for those who worked hard, besides the very reason they're doing this reset is to balance things like Credits and Nightmare Extractions precisely. The most difficult thing to compensate right now for me is Account Levelling, since it's a feature that it was barely adjusted, it's been since the release of the game and the only major change it suffered was in August Spawn Update with the buff of account and responder's XP multipliers.
im pretty salty about it. lvl 100 and have about 100 nightmare runs....all for it to go away with the wind and nothing to show for it.
Sucks but I don’t mind I just want to keep my experience badge from only running nightmare
More exclusive items to compensate, and keep my nightmare levels. They could also limit how many perks players can reroll (eg. Perk slot 1-4 can be re-rolled like we do now, but after that, it's all up to what you got in the first place) and give additional re-rollable slots to us.
ngl i would totally be down if they just gave us cool comestics
Tho it does blow for everyone who wanted to keep their progression. I would atleast definitely want a badge telling players my single digit nightmare levels before the wipe
I'm hoping for purely cosmetic rewards, nothing gameplay related especially not weapon exclusives (Having a model swap utilizing the same animations/data would be fine as its functionally a skin and the same in every way)
But for a game that already does not have enough weapons, locking out the post 1.0 players from a whole weapon itself is not the way, Sure you could drop it but those players will never have a chance to get it themselves.
I really do wish they'd have been transparent at the start of EA if there was ever the potential for a wipe, but we're here now and there's no going back.
There should be a baseline cosmetic(s) everyone gets and further EA Cosmetic rewards should be tiered to encourage continued play by those who join the game in this period, or to finish leveling up:
Lv20 -> x
Lv40 -> x
Lv60 -> x
Lv80 -> x
Lv100 -> x
10 Nightmare Extractions Completed -> x
20 Nightmare Extractions Completed -> x
30 Nightmare Extractions Completed -> x
These are simply an example, they can be refined to whatever the devs feel is fair.
A simple prestige system definitely should be put in, you get an icon change next to your name/underneath your accountlvl and at most a new camo/dye pattern unlocked for cosmetics just like the old CoD days, it's a very long term thing you can work on that shows nothing more than how many hours you've played.
I meant to send this days ago but I got busy and forgot lol.
