This was discussed a long time ago , the answer was "never"

This is a good suggestion in my opinion

#

NMRIH's design philosophy was always about depowering the player so that teamwork was not just motivated but mandatory

#

Putting some of these mechanics where the player is depowered in a random way would make even the most confident of players careful

#

Though, I understand that NMRIH2 is not a succesor of NMRIH1 😆

Good luck convincing Maxx and cenelder to implement that , they literally hate it

#

Makes sense

#

It takes away power from the player themselves and more to rng

#

Maxx has always been vocal about games taking control away from the player

#

I honestly believe that he is one of the people that hates random crits in tf2

Jamming doesn’t work for this game. Either every weapon would be trash that jams like it’s made max or they’d have to add a condition system which would necessarily complicate things.

One way to get this added:

Yes, rust can significantly increase the likelihood of a gun jamming. Rust creates friction and drag on moving parts, hindering their smooth operation. Additionally, rust can cause parts to wear down prematurely, leading to malfunctions. A rusted gun may also have difficulty feeding rounds, extracting spent casings, or ejecting spent casings, all of which can cause a jam.

Generally, if a gun looks fine, it's the most annoying thing if it doesn't always work. So the first thing we need is that the gun doesn't look well.

Maybe a 5 % spawn chance for a rusted gun. It must be visible that the gun is rusted, so you can prepare yourself for the jamming or ignore it. Combine it with the other suggestion about throwing weapons.

  1. Find visibly rusted gun
  2. Equip rusted gun
  3. Load and use it
  4. It will jam with a 100 % chance to not work anymore
  5. Unload gun
  6. Throw it at someone's head

God no

Basic reason for people to reject this is that nobody wants annoying shit in game. We have shit IRL such as jamming and games are meant to be enjoyable, at least most of them.

I came up with the idea because you find a lot of weapons outside of loot boxes, and they would be in poorer condition

That is the core thing OP suggested.

While jamming sucks, I would say yes to items with a crap condition that are visibly crap, so we decide to get creative and use malfunctioning trash to our advantage. Spawn chance for trash must be very low or else it gets annoying.

we don't need malfunctioning trash, we just need trash
and the existing low tier weapons fill that niche very well

after i read ur suggestions to my topic ive seen its a society based thing, some ppl are so bad they wouldnt keep up with more difficulty, some just not intrested bcause it exists in real life (how ever that stay in contact with it) others would love more functions that bring realism to the game, but i have the feeling that most ppl here didnt read the part where i wrote That could be a mechanic for a higher diffculty mode so its not meant for the base game. however i stay to that and maybe some future EXTRA MODES it could bring up extra adrenaline

Not a huge fan of the idea, just seems like artifical difficulty to me just for the sake of screwing with players

my guy jam is not happening in this game , especially if the ex project lead hated the idea

The game is also only a week into outbreak so there isnt enough time for guns to get that bad of a quality

Not to mention factories and half the US is still uninfected so quality and maintenance is still there

The only reason dayz weapon condition sucks as is its war saw stashed sitting around for generations and trash hand me down rounds. Mixed with the environments we loot.

We’ve already high lighted why it doesn’t fit it’s like asking for gun jams on ready or not

sick silo
#

matches take 20 minutes, you get in and get out, there's no time to be fiddling with weapon conditions or rng jamming

# deep sable crazy toxicnes XD

Bro you’ve been educated your ignorance is what’s leading you to feel attacked if you want realism the guns shouldn’t jam 😂

k

forest bobcat
#

It ain’t that long in your looting fallen infrastructure not rusts scrap yards the conditions we find weapons wouldn’t make sense

deep sable
#

XD gets funnier every sec, i love this community

forest bobcat

#

it didnt effect the base game

#

maybe goes longer is wider, harder

#

a extra map for that

#

and extra packt adrenaline

new things are not always bad, i really understand ur point and the charismatic touch the game offers, but with many new things they could be loved or either hated, in every case u can remove mechanics or just try it out without anyone get hurt

if you want bad guns, we already have those, one was just added
rusted guns are for Far Cry

could be fun, could be shit. thats right. we dont know. but it could be a charm

forest bobcat
#

I can counter this with your reallife arguement youve brought up even simplify it for why this wont fit

#

1.Shooting leads to carbone build up--> without cleaning this could lead to a jam scenarios---> issue with that is guns are made stand reliably the ammount of round output needed for this is greater then the output of a players match. So thats off the table.

deep sable
#

oh no we dismiss each other, i accept and listen, its not like ill blocking everything, but making a barrel out of it wasnt my intention, the rest u addet to id, im open mindet to every sugestion or, old based community opinions

2.Guns have a high shelf life. If its not being used and stored properly its shelf life is long. We get our weapons from weapon stashes in gun safes. The weapons we salvage half outside of that time are even less a few weeks exposed.

deep sable
#

thx for the info m8

forest bobcat
#
  1. If you want weapons to start negligibly preped to even that out youd need a cleaning process to negate that something to complex for the mission, simple combat and extraction based game play rn.+ it being more rogue lite based these advanced additions make no sense to the game and a simple perk is meaningless of addition.

i know that all bud

# deep sable i know that all bud

if you own a gun you should know its more reliable then this also. Finding a gunsafe like we do half the time is like finding a freeze dried food packaging its there to actively environmentally protect the item.

yup, just wanted to say, when its possibly in RL and i rly hope u get me right now. than bcause this exists, could maybe, with big regulations a future thing for an extra mode where the chance is not 20 percent, like a good lootdrop, 1 out of 14000 u get me and i think thats a reasonable point. could be anyone, anywhere, but the chances are low, very low. bcause yeah dont happen often to modern weapons, but it happens. and with my idea of a world were weapons being used of the survivers lore, laying dead on the ground with theyre shooted out guns next to em im not want to be a villain. and i think thats all for today, hope we can agree on that
