Hello everyone, as you might have heard or known NMRIH2 currently has no modding support, and it is unclear if there ever will be such.

I know that the original community from NMRIH1 is quite fond of having such community tools and freedom so I'd like to purpose both old and new players come together and 'Sign' this petition in favor of it or against it.

Feel free to leave a singular '+1' or '-1' to vote for or against it and also leave a ✅ reaction or a 👎 against it.

My vote is +1 to start things off.

I like my games vanilla, but if modded sessions are completely alienated then sure, let others have their fun. I just don't wish to play with people who will use mods for abusing, exploiting and/or griefing others. Had my fair share of those bastards in State of Decay 2. Some nasty folks used mods to enable PvP in a PvE game and massacred hundreds of players' survivors daily, and SoD2 is also a permadeath game. Hundreds of hours could've gone up in smokes just because some A-holes felt like doing so.

In that case, I approve.

It's not, Ready or Not is unreal 5 engine as well and I've played modded lobbies on that game like A.I tweaks to difficulty, making them more realistic etc.

Certain mods like custom maps you need to download even on that game in order to play on it still, but certain other things can be run without the need for a player to download anything, minor tweaks to the game itself that the host has on their client.

#

Cosmetics would also be completely unseen and unchanged too for said players if they don't have the mods themselves like for example CRC operator stuff or even zombies

I give a +1 to this petition.

||If there was a way for custom signatures, I would do so. But sadly this will have to do.||

Necessary for the game's longterm survival

It would be simple to make the mods like "Mutators" from KF. Download during loading screen like how you joining Source Engine multiplayer games servers

Finally a good idea from p00ncake, for once

#

Devs, you can still sell skins with custom maps around, you know that, right?

oh wow I came back and it went from 19 to 34 checkmarks..

seems pretty popular

Yeah, this game should follow tradition of the first game. Modding tools are going to make game more enjoyable and will increase lots of players

while modding might help with the obscene amount of repetetivness in the game i fear moding without the old serverbrowser from the original being implemented and with the current lobbysystem in place people might get put into servers running mods they dont want to play with. Plus now that we have multible currencies that you keep between games, moding servers would open the door to exploitation. (think about someone inventing a mod that increases the amount of acount-xp gained by a factor of 1000)

#

While the idea of moding is a noble one, in order for mods to be implemented without breaking the gaming experience, the game needs to be completely reworked to mirror the first games lobbystructure and remove acount-xp, responderlevel and the newly implemented credits. Which will never happen. So i fear i have to disagree. -

what kinda mods are the most common in insurgency

exotic root
#

cause if i look at what kinda mods where the most popular in the original it was mostly godmode, infinite ammo and the gun wheel (which lets you spawn whatever gun you want with max backup ammo)

#

Plus after what im used to from tornbanner the last 6 months i wouldn´t trust them to implement mading with the same grace New World Interactive might have done.

the original NMRIH. I never played insurgency. this is why i asked

I disagree back specifically because I have seen an unreal 5 game with its own menu mod with a shortcut key bring up a server browser in a game that wasn't designed for it.

cool what all of you have seen but i still dont trust tornbanner to get this right. its just not worth the risk

empty shuttle
#

Which is why I think the U5 change if utilized right might make modding quite alive and robust as long as TB sees this and implements it as part of community feedback

With a clear indicator of Mods displayed along with a list of them in a box somewhere. And same goes for vanilla with the current map, amount of players playing etc.

#

which btw can be done unofficially with mods.

+1 would love to see balanced community maps in the future that has a little throwback to the OG.

Nice! We hit 50 checkmarks! Thanks everyone.

Feel free to spread the word to anyone you know who might also want to have modding in the games future.

Bumping for new players that bought game/tried for free weekend.

i +1 this but only after 1.0. no point spending time making a modding sdk when the game isn't feature complete yet

I agree as well cause it will help keep the game alive beyond 1.0 or above once implemented nod

#

Just like how Skyrim, counter strike source, TF2, fallout games, and various others thrived well past typical shelf life due to modding

Bumping up post.

I would like official modding support, just like NMRIH1. Its a great way for the community to express their work and potentially give the devs ideas on what to add to the game. Even if its never added, I think when there's a will, there's a way, and people will find a way to mod the game if they really want to.

previous game Chivalry 2 got no mod support, yet some of the devs mentioned they wanted to deliver it. So i really doubt it happening for nmrih2 as well

If the game is going to survive, it absolutely needs custom maps

#

Steam workshop is a necessity

naive matrix
#

the game really needs community made maps and a mapping tool.

fluid flax
#

Games typically survive better if they allow mods and work/have compatibility with Steam workshop.

Mass riot with the whole playerbase, every Chinese kid that plays this game to compel and enforce mass refunds and everyone going back to the first title until things change for good.

(I'm not responsible if that actually happens.)

I mean the writing is already on the wall, the game can't sustain its higher population numbers because it cannot generate enough content as it currently exists, now they MAY introduce a good gameplay loop eventually but the reality is what kept the original game alive was its custom content and community within it.

But I think the silence and lack of addressesing directly with any open QA is telling that they want to be unclear. (I assume intentionally) To keep us along the ride of development but I could be wrong
