One of the most common themes in the discourse and criticism around this game, is how divergent its design is from the first. The developers are more than likely aware of that. They're either already considering the kinds of changes many of us want, to bring it in line with NMRiH1 - or they're not.

How exactly do you think siphoning discussion around the game from here - where the devs/CM can see it - to a discord where they can't - will affect TB's decisions in regards to further development of the game?

You've created the delusion of doing something, this in reality is nothing. Like I said, everyone who I've worked with or spoken to who works in some form of media creation don't take these groups seriously.

Take all the passion you have for the game, and keep it on this Discord channel so that some of the developers may read it, and be cordial in your criticism/requests, that'll get you further.

I want the game to succeed as well, but there is a right and a wrong way to approach it, and this is the wrong way.

I agree with your point. I like the feeling of doing and contributing to more, but we also have to be objective about it.

The fact is we're all just "ideas guys", not the ones actually developing the game. We can write walls of text and build a house out if it, doesn't mean anything's actually gonna change. The best chance of it contributing to that though, is if it's where the people actually involved in making the game can see it

Signing petitions often does help though. If someone made a list of ideas for the game that was read and signed by 1000 people it would actually be effective. That being said joining a discord server isn't necessary toward that.

Myself I follow some rules I set for myself on discord a long time ago:

1. I don't downvote anything in suggestion threads. If I disagree with something I can communicate why or just not offer my upvote.
2. Never to use provocative emojis, like thumbs down, x's or clown emojis, popcorn etc. I typically only use thumbs up or 100 percent emoji when I react to people - you know positive things or nothing.
3. To stay on topic to ideas. I try not to talk about anyone. I try not to talk about myself when people turn a conversation about ideas into something about me etc.
4. I don't make discord servers.

These rules have served me well... 🙂
