#Rule Enforcement in DMs

I want to propose the change that overall, users should be "on their own" in DMs. What does this mean? It means that if a member is uncomfortable with someone's messages, the member should be instructed to block the other user when they file a report.

Examples of when to block

  • General cursing, disrespect and insults that do not violate Discord's Terms of Service
    • (This means that racial slurs are still punishable here)
  • Spamming / trolling
  • Comments that the receiver is uncomfortable with

Examples of when to enforce the rules on the server level

  • DM advertising
  • Racial slurs
  • Scamming
  • Pedophilia / grooming
  • Discord Terms of Service violation (e.g: under 13, exploits, evading a block (when you block someone and they contact you on an alt), etc.)
  • Doxxing
  • Anything illegal, really

I feel that it is out of place for HiddenDevs to moderate DMs between users with a few exceptions as listed above. But overall, the end-user should take their own responsibility to block someone that they do not wish to talk to.

100% agree this server has 0 right to be involved in dms between people

I feel like peoples feelings get hurt so quickly even though they could just use the block button

Pedophiles are a threat to the community and they deserve to be handed same with doxxing.

#

We dont intervene for Discord terms of service violations rather than Alts and under 13 as we are required to as partners.

#

Racial slurs are punished on the basis of someone in chat going to someone's dms in chat as welln to call thems lurs

And those are in the list of infractions you should take action for even in DMs. But maybe consider looking at my warnings. I've been verbally and officially warned for saying uwu/owo and dominant/submissive uwu/owo in dms. I'm not sure how that relates to HD other than the fact that I discovered the person on HD. I find it inappropriate to be warned for that unless I did it on the server. I don't think that HD should have authority over DMs for the most part, except for the most severe cases such as pedophilia.
