#Code help is absolute chaos

its because we have moderators that dont know how to punish the people who are spamming it with random nonsense but they punish those people who are do some minor infraction
for those people who want to know, yes look at my modcall record its full
with a bunch of reports
once saw 2 dudes talking about their geekbar plugs and told them to go to chat because people were tryna ask for help and they said "shut the fuck up 🤓"
like i said: add a feedback forum 😭
like it doesnt push up people actually needing help & people can be serious
its also easy to moderate
We don't mod off topic discussions as long as people requesting help get the help they need
^
If something like that happens again, feel free to ping an available mod or modcall (right click message > apps)
But we do moderate if it's excessive off-topic
i won’t blame mods for the unconsistancy really its not their fault
i personally just think the idea of making the code help channel a singular channel is a bit too chaotic
If someone asks for help, the topic should switch back to that. If no one needs help, conversations are okay
if there is an off topic discussion while we're trying to help somebody
yes you do moderate them
this is not the case
bro tf r u on 😭
ive seen and reported a bunch of people for clogging up the code help channel for no reason, and it seems like nothing has been done about it
it is frustrating on my end seeing the channels in the state they are. personally, idgaf if they're off topic UNTIL someone comes in chat and if they ask for help, they get legitimate help. after that is handled yea sure go back to memes or whatever..
ye and
clogging up the code help channel for no reason, and it seems like nothing has been done about it
oh i see, forgot to add the most important part
yeah what's considered clogging it up
sorry
i dont care about off topic but if somebody needs help, i dont want people that are off topic to come in here and clog it up
right so you don't want off topic conversations going on whilst a user is getting helped
is that what you're trying to say
yes
why not just create a thread
we cant
...?
then how about we create a new solution to our problem which is suggesting that Members can create threads in development channels instead of just development helpers

or or hear me out
make a feedback / help forum
its much easier to moderate than threads

the best part about it is that we can just tag what we need help with
doesnt have to be just help with code
ur dumb bruh we just said we dont mod for it
getting new "competent" mods won't change anything
they still won't moderate for it
you do
likely for the best
lets bring @fierce tiger (temp dl for mod) to give their opinions
#code-help is the goat
going to hear the same things that have already been said, not just in this thread but previous ones
It's a loop with you guys lol - you complain that the channel is too off topic > moderation steps back > complaints that there's not enough moderation > more attention placed on the channel > complaints again
The last link is your final response
pretty much
no its just the mods dont do anything to actively enforce it
