Controversial Marketplace Policy Update
Due to recent heat, ROBLOX has paused the new policy change and assured users that nobody will be "subject to moderation". This major announcement showcases the outage expressed by the community and investors, which they followed u by saying "We will thoroughly consider all your use cases and feedback, and refine the policy as appropriate while respecting creators’ rights".
This led to continuing outrage from the community and investors as they emphasized that the policy is still planned to be pushed through but they're just figuring out a more efficient policy and giving creators a grace period to meet requirements.

| Building the Future of Roblox Home and Search: Introducing Personalized Discovery
- Personalized positioning places content like People You May Know and Continue sorts on Home based on user preferences and engagement patterns. This ensures users see the most relevant content at the right time. For creators, this means your experiences have a better chance of reaching users who are most likely to engage with them. While this may lead to minor shifts in impressions as users navigate the homepage more efficiently, the update benefits experiences by improving discoverability and simplifying navigation.

| Introducing Regional Pricing for Passes
Starting today, Roblox will start offering Regional Pricing for Passes to all creators on Roblox and is entirely opt-in. This allows you to offer country-specific pricing for your Passes. By offering country-specific pricing for Passes, creators will give users who live in a specific country more appropriate pricing that reflects their local economy. In turn, users outside your region will be more likely to spend Robux inside your experience, helping creators earn more.
Creators decide which Passes they would like to offer country-specific prices for and set a “default price” for that Pass. Roblox then updates those prices in each region periodically. Region-specific prices are determined using a variety of signals, including a region’s purchasing power, currency exchange rates, and local spending behavior on Roblox.

| Improving Sharing and Distribution for Models and Packages
Recently, Roblox expanded the permissions system to let you share images, decals, meshes, mesh parts, and models, with friends and groups. Today, we’re launching improvements to sharing packages and models that contain audio and video assets. We’re also reducing several permission error states (e.g., when sharing) and improving performance at scale.
- If you create and share a package or model with a friend or group, they will now be able to load any audio or video assets that were included. This applies whether you uploaded those audio or video assets, they were shared with you, or you got them from the Creator Store. Previously, the audio and video assets would only load if they are also listed on Store. Audio and video assets not on Store had to be shared separately outside of the package or model.
| Expanding How Commerce Can Help You Earn and Grow Your Communities
Eligible creators can add commerce into their experiences through the Creator Hub and implement the purchases with the Roblox Commerce APIs. Creators must be 18+, ID & Email Verified (with 2FA), be a Shopify merchant, and in good standing with Roblox to participate.
To pair the physical purchase with a digital benefit (such an exclusive avatar item), creators must have a minimum of 100K average DAUs and a total of 1M in Robux earnings for their experience in the last 3 months. Creators and brands can also unlock this functionality through $50K USD of advertising spend in agreement with Roblox. This is because we are limited in the short-term on the number of virtual bundles we can create, and large experiences are the most likely to have communities that benefit from Commerce. In the coming months, all eligible creators who are Shopify merchants will be able to do this.
| [Studio Beta] New Input Action System
Roblox is thrilled to bring you our new abstract Input Action System (IAS)! This new approach to input provides you with several new instances you can use to connect to input actions and arrange bindings across platforms at edit time. Those, combined with contexts, allows you to easily configure and edit an input system in your game and make sure that it’ll work on any device.
With IAS, you can connect abstracted actions to multi-platform input which unlocks data-driven actions, contextual enabling and disabling of actions, and input-dependent UI. The Input Action System also makes input modular and reusable, allowing you to easily edit or reuse contexts, actions, and bindings.

They will work across all haptic-supported input devices like Console and VR controllers. The five effects we’ll introduce are: Explosion, Collision, UIClick, UIHover, and UINotification.

| Introducing the License Manager and Catalog for Popular IPs and Creative Works
- Roblox will be launching the License Manager and catalog in early Q3.
In the Licenses catalog, you’ll be able to request a license from owners of participating popular IPs for your experience. These licenses enable you to create full experiences based on the IP under the terms and revenue share outlined.
Creating experiences using popular IP can make your content more recognizable and exciting to users! It’s a great opportunity to reach new audiences that already know and love certain characters, settings, storylines, and more. Once launched, all creators will be able to browse and apply for a license in the Licenses catalog for the IPs that they’re most interested in.
| [Studio Beta] Introducing UI Styling!
In the past, visually styling UI elements typically involved manually adjusting the properties of each individual UI instance. In an experience with numerous UI elements, this process could quickly become cumbersome – having to search through the Datamodel tree to locate the right instance, match its properties exactly to another, and repeat the process for each one.
Styling separates defining the structure of UI elements from their visual appearance. This is extremely powerful; teams can now iterate quickly across color palettes, fonts, and other themes without recreating instances. We’ve taken some inspiration from CSS, a common programming paradigm used to style web pages. This page provides an in-depth overview of Styling. If you’re familiar with CSS (or want to learn more), check out this guide comparing Roblox’s Styling with CSS.
- Multiple APIs to define and apply UI styles, including:
- StyleRules define styled properties which override properties on the instances affected by the Selector property.
- StyleSheets aggregate StyleRules and can be linked to DataModel trees to apply style properties to instances.
- StyleLinks connect a StyleSheet to the instance tree whose root is the parent of the StyleLink.
- StyleDerives reference another StyleSheet for a parent StyleSheet to inherit StyleRules and token definitions

| Grant publish access to specific Experiences, and more!
Hi Creators,
Roblox has just rolled out granular experience permissions for groups - giving you as a group owner controls to grant per-experience permissions for specific roles in your group. For example, you now have the freedom to create roles that only have edit permissions for a specific experience or can only access a specific experience’s analytics without granting the same access to your entire portfolio of experiences. Previously, role permissions were set only at the group level. Roblox heard your feedback that this doesn’t allow Creators with multiple experiences to set-up diverse and dynamic enough team roles.
Enabling richer and more sophisticated collaboration with you and your team is one of our priorities, and to provide the tools and controls you need to fit the needs of your team. Previously, Roblox enabled experience ownership transfer, after launching the new group permission system. Today, Roblox is taking another major step towards a deep collaboration system that works for everyone, whether you’re a small team of creators just starting out, or if you have a large team managing multiple experiences.
| [Studio Beta] Beyond Static Skies: Rotate Your Worlds with SkyboxOrientation!
Hi Creators,
Get ready to add a subtle yet impactful new dimension to your experiences! Roblox is happy to announce the release of Skybox Orientation as a Studio Beta, allowing you to easily manipulate and rotate the textures of your skybox at virtually no rendering cost (low performance cost and zero memory cost).
Rotate Your World: Introducing Skybox Orientation
This new feature gives you precise control over the orientation of your environment map, opening up many creative possibilities. When enabled, you’ll find a new property, SkyboxOrientation, conveniently located under the Sky instance within the Lighting service. Its Vector3 values (X, Y, and Z) determine the rotation angle of your skybox textures, measured in degrees.
By default, all values are set to zero, ensuring existing experiences remain visually unchanged and incur no additional rendering cost. Once you introduce non-zero values, your skybox textures will rotate sequentially around the Y-axis, then X, and finally Z. This behavior is consistent with how most other Roblox orientation properties function, making it intuitive to use.
| Party API Is Here! Enable Connected Player Experiences and Drive Deeper Engagement
Hi Creators,
Roblox understands the previous challenges of ensuring Party members can seamlessly play, spawn, and navigate your experiences together. This API directly addresses frustrating scenarios like Party members spawning apart or being split between teams or places.
While Party has already made it easier for users to join an experience together with people they know through features like “Join with Party,” the Party API builds on this by providing you with the PartyData of users who play together through Roblox’s native Party feature.

| [Public Beta] Memory Stores Sorted Map & Queue GetSize()
Hi Creators,
Today Roblox is extending their Memory Stores API with a new function for both MemoryStoreSortedMap and MemoryStoreQueue - GetSize()! This function will return the number of items in your data structure. For details on use, see the Creator Hub Documentation.
You may have noticed that this launch does not include the Hash Map data structure. Since Hash Maps are automatically sharded across partitions, getting the total size would require scanning every partition. So, each request would cost as many request units as there are partitions. Roblox is considering a function that allows you to get an approximated Hash Map size based on a sample of partitions, which would lower the request unit usage.
| Introducing Avatar Items on Profiles
Hi Creators,
Starting today, users can find your most recently published avatar items on your profile page. Items will be shown to users accessing Roblox on the mobile app. Roblox will introduce items on computer and web in the coming weeks.
This module will display three of your latest avatar items, with an option to see all avatar items a creator has published. It will be automatically available to all avatar creators and Communities that have published at least one 3D avatar item.
| Updates to Content Maturity and Compliance Moderation Policies
Hi Creators,
Roblox heard your feedback to refine their content maturity and compliance policies, especially regarding moderation. Today, Roblox is providing an update on their moderation process to provide more clarity on they are reviewing content maturity, checking compliance requirements, and applying moderation actions. Roblox wants to reiterate that it’s very important you answer the Maturity & Compliance Questionnaire correctly, and to keep it up-to-date with any changes to your experience, as Roblox uses these answers to provide accurate information to users, parents, and regulators. Their goal is to ensure that experiences on the Roblox platform have accurate content maturity and compliance information so that users around the world can choose what type of content they want to interact with, and parents can choose what is appropriate for their children.

| [Client Beta] Introducing PreferredInput and Improved Touch Capabilities
Hi Creators,
Roblox is releasing a new API today into client beta: PreferredInput. You can publish PreferredInput in your experience today.
Next week, Roblox will be rolling out improvements to how input is detected across devices, including a fix for which devices are reported as TouchEnabled and improvements to touch & gesture capabilities. | Improving Animation Asset Permissions
Hi Creators!
Roblox heard your feedback on how restrictive animation permissions are and the issues you’ve seen loading them in Studio. Today, they're launching ✨ Animation asset permissions improvements ✨ and transitioning Animations to be consistent with other “Restricted” assets such as Audio & Video. Now, when an experience gets permission to load an Animation asset, any player will be able to load it when playing the experience and any collaborator will be able to load it during a playtest in Studio. This also enables loading Animations in experiences that have a different creator, meaning there’s no need for transferring Animations between accounts anymore. 😲
Animation assets are “Restricted” and cannot be changed to “Open Use”. See Asset Privacy for more details. This is to protect experiences from unwanted Animation behavior that can affect game play.

| [Beta] Cube 3D Model Updates: Better Quality and Bounding Box Control
Hi Creators!
Earlier this year, Roblox introduced Cube 3D; their foundation model for text to 3D creation. The community’s creativity continues to amaze Roblox with over a million 3D models generated in experiences and Studio since March.
The in-experience Mesh Generation API allows users to quickly generate unique in-game items and props using simple text prompts. Roblox believes this will make creation even more accessible within gameplay and unlock new possibilities for dynamic and custom content within experiences. They have observed that games with creation dynamics result in significantly higher engagement and retention as users become more invested in an experience that they can actively shape and customize.

| Increasing DevEx — Creators Will Now Earn 8.5% More
Hi Creators!
As Dave shared at RDC 25, Roblox is excited to announce that they have increased the exchange rate for everyone in the Roblox DevEx program. All creators will now earn approximately 8.5% more when turning their Earned Robux into cash.
What This Means for You
_ _
If you’re eligible for DevEx, you don’t need to take any action, as this change went into effect earlier today (Friday September 5th, 2025). Any Robux earned from 10 AM PT September 5th, 2025 onward will automatically cash out a rate of $0.0038 for every Earned Robux.
For example:
10,000 Earned Robux previously converted to $35
Now, that same 10,000 Earned Robux will convert to $38
Note that while Robux earned 10 AM PT or later will use this rate, balances of Robux earned before that time will continue to cash out at a rate of $0.0035 for every Earned Robux.
Why Roblox is Making This Change
_ _
Now, creators on Roblox are earning more than ever, and creators are on track to earn more than $1 Billion within a single calendar year for the first time. This change is one of the ways Roblox is enabling the community to participate in the growing success of the platform.
This increase reflects Roblox's continued investment in you, Roblox's creators. It brings more real-world value to the Robux you earn through engaging gameplay, quality content, and passionate fanbases.

Following up on the Roblox Creator Keynote, Roblox has two key updates for you: their annual “report card” on last year’s progress, and the newly updated roadmap reflecting all the major features announced at RDC.
Roblox Report Card
Over the past year, Roblox has launched 102 items from its roadmap. Their on-time delivery rate was 53%, a decrease from 59% last year. This reflects a deliberate shift to prioritize stability and quality, ensuring new features work as expected on day one. Consequently, the number of delayed items increased to 31% on Roblox.
This coming year, Roblox is focused on tackling fewer projects with higher consistency and quality. They will continue sharing these insights to hold themselves accountable.

| [Studio Beta] Advanced Video API: Synchronize Video, Control 3D Audio, and More!
Hi Creators!
Around a year ago, Roblox released an advanced Audio API which allows you to define how audio is created and processed in-experience by connecting powerful instances such as Wires and AudioListeners.
Now.. Around a week ago, they have officially released the video equivalent with newer features!
The intent of this API is to give creators additional control and customization beyond what VideoFrame currently offers. (It is also explicitly confirmed that VideoFrame will NOT be deprecated)
There are two new instances:
VideoPlayer → where a video asset is specified and stored, as well as where playback functionalities reside
VideoDisplay → renders a video asset on a SurfaceGui, ScreenGui, or BillboardGui when connected to a VideoPlayer with a Wire
They are used in conjunction with Wires and other wireable instances (such as the AudioEmitter) to control, customize, and play videos.
For more information on how to use these new instances, here are some helpful documentations at your disposal:

You can explore this right now in the official Avatar Creator experience, and devs can tap into the feature using the new AvatarCreationService:PromptCreateAvatarAssetAsync API.
| PlayerFeedback API: Prompt Player Feedback in Experiences
Hello Creators!

If you are not using Roblox thumbnails Web APIs to fetch 3D thumbnails, you can skip this post and move on to the next one.
Protecting the Roblox creator community’s intellectual property is a top priority. To reduce the risk of unauthorized third parties scraping 3D thumbnail content, Roblox is going to block logged-out users from viewing 3D thumbnails starting March 23rd, 2026. This change will strengthen inventory privacy, make it harder for bad actors to copy assets, and lay the groundwork for Roblox to deliver higher-quality thumbnails over time.

| New Analytics Dimensions: Get insight into your players’ spending behaviors
Hi Creators,
Today Roblox is excited to roll out more granular breakdowns and filters into how your players spend in your experience and across Roblox. In Creator Hub analytics, they're adding three new dimensions: Active payer status, When user first played, and Platform spender status.
Why do these insights matter?
By using these segments, you can answer critical questions like:
- “Why is my DAU declining? Is it a weakness in acquiring new players … or in retaining & reactivating existing players?”
- “Are my long-term players spending more than new players?”
- “Are Active Spenders spending enough time in the experience to qualify for Creator Rewards?"
- "How does my retention look for ‘Active Spenders’ versus players who have never spent USD on the platform?”
- “Which acquisition sources are bringing in ‘High’ Robux payers?”
- “How are different payer segments responding to my new releases, content and events?”
This can help you decide on what segment of your users to prioritize, and updates you might make to your experience.
View the second image below to see what the new analytics filter looks like.

| Enabling Regional Prices for All Passes to Grow Your Global Audience
Hello Creators!
Roblox said that regional pricing will automatically be enabled for all game passes on March 30. This change will help creators by reducing their work. It will also ensure that games stay competitive in markets.
Creators will still have control over pricing. They can turn off pricing for any game pass at any time using Creator Hub. They do not need to do anything to keep it on.
Developer products are not part of this change. This is because they can affect things like gifting and trading. So developers must choose to use pricing, for these items themselves.

| Updates to 2D Avatar Items, Uploading and Publishing Requirements
Hello Creators!
Roblox has shared new requirements for publishing 2D avatar items and fee changes for 3D avatar items.
New 2D avatar items requirements
- Premium: An active Premium 1000 or 2200 subscription will be required to publish new 2D avatar items or to keep published 2D items on sale.
- Publishing advance: Publishing 2D avatar items will also require a 10 Robux publishing advance. These fees also help deter misuse of the system and encourage legitimate creators.
- Dynamic price floor: Like 3D avatar items, 2D avatar items will have a dynamic price floor, starting at 5 Robux, to support healthier prices and outcomes for both 2D and 3D avatar items.
This update will apply to groups as well, with the requirements as follows:
- To upload a 2D avatar item - an upload fee of 10 Robux is required.
- To publish a 2D avatar item - an active Premium 1000 or 2200 subscription (for both the publisher and the Group owner), and a publishing advance of 10 Robux are required.
- To keep a 2D avatar item on sale - an active Premium 1000 or 2200 subscription is required.
Another change that Roblox has made to 3D avatar items is now 300 Robux, reduced from 750 Robux. All other 3D upload requirements remain unchanged.
On March 20, 2026: Roblox will begin delisting 2D clothing from the Marketplace and within experiences if the creator has not met the Premium requirement. To be clear, items purchased by users will remain in their inventories.

| Improving Text Chat Filter and Introducing Chat Rephrasing
Hello Creators!
We are back with yet another Roblox update to text chat, as they are making significant improvements to the Text Chat filter, introducing a new layer of safety.
As many players know, a string of "## #####" can feel like a conversational dead-end that disrupts gameplay.
With that in mind, Roblox is introducing real-time Chat rephrasing for messages that contain profanity within Experience Chat and are between age-checked users in similar age groups or Trusted Connections.
Instead of showing hashtags for profanity, the new system now automatically rephrases those messages into civil language before they reach other players.
Chat rephrasing is now available across all supported auto-translation languages.

| [Early Access] Introducing Mesh Streaming and Next-gen Cloud LoDs
Hi Creators!
Recently, following the launch of Texture Streaming, Roblox is introducing early access to Mesh Streaming.
What is Mesh Streaming?
Mesh Streaming is a new engine-level system that dynamically manages the detail and memory footprint of mesh assets, ensuring your experience runs smoothly on everything from high-end PCs to mobile devices.
Mesh Streaming moves away from the “all-or-nothing” approach to loading assets. Instead of waiting for a high-polygon mesh to download and load fully, the engine intelligently streams specific Levels of Detail (LoDs) based on what is happening in the scene.
Joining the Early Access program
To try out Mesh Streaming, simply sign up using the link below. Roblox will be adding people to the early access program in waves, and you will be notified via the dev forum so be sure to check your messages.

| Level Up Your Community: Assign Multiple Roles per Member!
Hi Creators,
Following the recent major updates to the platform, Roblox decided to give us a massive upgrade to how we manage our communities on Roblox: Multiple Roles per Member is now here!
How Permissions Stack Up
Moving forward, a community member will always have a base member role, plus any other roles you choose to assign them.
- Combined Permissions: Role permissions add together. If a user has the “Developer” role (can edit experiences) and the “Community Manager” role (create announcements), they automatically have the permissions for both.
- Role Hierarchy: With multiple roles, permissions like “Manage lower-ranked member ranks” will always look at the user’s highest-ranked role to determine who they can assign, kick, or ban.
You can view a user’s full list of roles right now in the Configure Community > Members tab.
API Updates
If your experience relies on roles for in-game logic, here’s what you need to know about the current APIs:
- Reading Roles: The current
GET ListGroupMembershipsendpoint continues to work exactly as it does today, returning the member’s highest-ranked role. - Writing Roles - The legacy endpoint:
PATCH Update Group Membershipwill overwrite a user’s profile. It removes all current roles and sets them only to the single role you specify in the request.
Oh, and one more thing: Roblox has removed the 25 Robux fee for creating new roles!

| Analytics: Diagnose server crashes with server memory snapshots
Hi Creators!
Roblox has created a new analytics feature called server memory snapshots, designed to help developers to better understand and diagnose memory related server crashes, when a server crashes, a snapshot captures a detailed breakdown of memory usage at that exact moment.
This allows developers to check which systems, scripts, or memory categories were consuming the most leading to the crash, By analyzing these snapshots, creators can easily find memory leaks, unexpected spikes, or long term memory growth that may or not appear during regular testing in studio.

| Revamped Server Restarts and Server Management
Hi Creators,
Today, Roblox has announced Server Management, an update to the page on Creator Hub that gives you more control over how you roll out updates!
Previously, restarting servers after publishing an update was an all-or-nothing operation. You could shut down every server, or all outdated servers, but you couldn’t target specific versions or individual servers.
Server Management changes that. You now have a centralized place to browse your servers, inspect their health, and restart them with fine-grained control – all from Creator Hub.

Personalize Player Gameplay: New Platform Spender, Active Payer, and Tenure API Calls
Hi Creators,
Today, Roblox launched a new engine API call, AnalyticsService:GetPlayerSegmentsAsync, that allows you to tailor your game experience based on a player’s platform spender status, in-experience active payer status, and time since when the user first played the game.
Providing a customized experience for your players can improve their retention, engagement and monetization, which in turn helps your game to grow.
These API calls will be available through the AnalyticsService and can be accessed through AnalyticsService:GetPlayerSegmentsAsync(player : Player); passing in the player will return a dictionary of the player’s different segments (if they exist) as enums.
