i think the main thing throwing me off is the really unsaturated color on the shirt

i struggle with the color theory yet...
I made more by "eye" than technique, so the flaws appears

the brighter the light source, the darker the shadow

[woven fox]

the shadows look a bit desaturated imo, especially his clothing. if u use multiply layer you dont necessarily need to make the whole layer the same colour (for exmaple, blue if the setting has the sky)

what you can do is change the colours of some parts (like skin) of the multiply layer/shadow layer to warmer colours to make it look less dull

idk if that makes sense

because sometimes adding a huge multiply layer with like blue or something onto the skin makes it look rlly dull and dead

but the dragon looks really good

and also i think youre missing some occlusion shadows
occlusion shadows are when ambient light cant reach an area and doesnt l;ight it up, making that part way darker

if u dont know what ambient occlusion is or ambient light is then u should go check out some videos abt that
