if the dude calls for digital then start on digital
you can do traditional for some line confidence and feel with the ink and paper but transitioning to digital will be another hurdle so it's best to just start out on digital if they got a pad and try to get their hands used to it
really depends though, I had no problem switching to digital because my hands adapted fast to the pad
its just the rendering thats so different

this looks rlly nice :D but i think the blue feels kinda out of place/out of nowhere so i suggest you add it to some other parts of the design too
its also good to use the 60-30-10 rule for colours
(for example 60% orange, 20% white, 10% blue)
you should watch some colour theory videos to help pick colours
