put it on the top
give them round corners
name this "bkg" or something, set it to black or any dark color
duplicate it and name the duplicate "fill"
make another with same properties
make anchor point to 0, 0.5 if you are using the scale method

Scale Method:

if you are sizing it, make sure it is stored in a canvasgroup so that the corners wont change

UIGradient Method:

add a UIGradient on the fill layer and change it's transparency
when scripting it, change the gradients offset
