there are several ways to do it but yeah it is pretty annoying
the most popular method i think is using clipping mask

1. Copy this halftone image (note: for what I tried that works is you gotta Ctrl+A then Ctrl+c to work, idk why thats the case)
2. Make a whole white background
3. Add a clipping mask to said white background then paste the copied image to the clipping mask
4. done (but if only the black part remains then invert the clipping mask image, i forgot it is Ctrl+Alt+I or Ctrl+I)
