Have confidence in your line work. What you’re doing is called “Chicken Scratch” and it’s a quick way to make a sketch messy and incohesive.

Use a drawing guide of some sorts with the drawing assist off so you can balance symmetry easier.

Also you’re focusing on detail too early. Break everything up into simple shapes and go from the biggest shapes to smallest shapes and sorry about detail last.

you can also enable stabilization to make the lines more steady, due to a screen being smooth it’s wayy more difficult to have control than paper so there is absolutely no shame in stabilization for linework

does anyone here use procreate to draw gfx and if so, can i have some tips as a beginner

always make a big canvas, like 3000x3000 with 300dpi. i used smaller ones before and it looked blurry when i zoom or export

turn on symmetry in drawing guide when making logos or centered stuff. helps a lot

use a lot of layers. keep each effect or piece seperate. like text in 1 layer, glow in another, shadows in another

layer modes are super useful. screen makes glow better, multiply for shadows, overlay can change colors in cool ways

use clipping mask instead of painting on the base layer. it keeps it clean and easy to edit

gaussian blur for soft light or shadows. bloom makes things glow like neon

liquify is nice for making stuff look warped or melty. i used it on text and it came out cool

get custom brushes, the default ones are ok but not enough for gfx. i found glow, line glitch, pixel, smoke brushes online

selection tool + freehand is good when u wanna move or duplicate a part without messing the rest

snapping + magnetics helps when resizing or moving text and shapes. it keeps things straight and centered

use chromatic aberration to add glitchy rgb split to text or shapes

i rasterize text after placing it so i can paint on it or distort it

color profile should be RGB (Display P3), it shows more vibrant colors. i was using the wrong one before

reference layer is good for coloring stuff fast with color drop

try duplicating your canvas often in case u mess something and wanna go back

keep stuff organized in stacks so the gallery don’t look messy after u got a bunch of versions

soft airbrush is my go to for shadows and glowing edges. also use smudge with it for blending

time lapse recording is automatic, it’s cool to watch after but take a lot of storage sometimes

i haven’t learned animation assist or brush making yet but that’s next
