hey, i see what you're trying to do here. I feel like the first one could def use some work.

• First thing I noticed was the mouth. It was way too wide, reaching over both eyes so i shortened it
• Next I fixed the nose. There wasn't that much to fix but the thickness and the arch of it
• A lot of improvement on the eyes. I kept the overall design of the eyes but fixed the eyebrows and added shadow, pupils, and more expression

you can either color pick and imitate the reference, or try and select a darker and more saturated color that's close in the wheel (you're working with something purple-y, but in the context of the original ref, it's supposed to be an offwhite), desaturate the original purple, make it lighter, and use something like dark blue for the hard shadows

these are edited vectors the lines in vectors carry high contrast and vibrancy compared to anything you would draw its kinda complicated but vectors hold a higher colour ratio that doesn’t fade unlike a drawing
