character isnt as common in here, if ur looking to do dev work here, then u needa start doing works that people want like vectors, ui, logos and so on

so id recommend making ur portfolio varied enough to show to potential commissioners that u can do "task A" instead of just "task b"

if ur just starting main concept art, thumbnails icons and faces, from what ive seen thats what they look for. Also when ur starting u need to be upfront and straightforward there are a lot of scammers on here that will make u work for nothing, wont pay upon completion/ ghost/ or think they have the right to decline u a payment because they wont use the asset u made, be aware of the flags for this. Take partial upfront and partial after/ payment after the sketch. Dont trust any dev to pay upon completion, if a dev argues with it its likely they do not have the funds or intend to ghost. Have a tos to protect urself and ur work. Also since ur starting out the rates on here are rarely appealing for the work completed but it should be fine if ur new. Once uve buffed up ur portfolio and gain experience increase ur prices and move to promoting ur services elsewhere ull have ppl coming to u instead of u seeking them out. ALSO DONT EVER TAKE % unless the games already been released

i have a lot of experience in art itself and with drawing character concepts from designs i've done for my own story, so i am aware of how i should price my work and i will definitely take your advice into consideration! :) i mostly just lack experience in working on larger projects with a team
