past a certain point being a perfectionist or wanting to make things the best way you can think of will end up making you lose a ton of progress, as long as u can change it in the future and its optimized to the best of your current ability then youll likely be fine

a lot of practice, and the way I personally learnt was by, say for example if you wanted to make a gun system, a good way to learn about some of the stuff about it is not to search up "how make gun system", but instead looking into the stuff behind it that makes it up, like a viewport, or raycasts, or simple small things like that

In my case, the amount of proximity prompts in a part gets a template for its each properties and attributes and it is tracked
This is an example for the player, just add your prompts to the vehicle as you would with the default prompt

I still got room for performance improvements (which ill work on soon) that will actually make this render pretty efficiently but got FFT ocean water in roblox.
I still got a tiling issue though. Ive been trying to snap them onto a "grid" but floating point precision errors is making it frustrating
Once I optimize the iFFT algorithm to use parallel threads better, I'll probably calculate multiple cascades to reduce the tiling effect.
Depending on how much I optimize it, I might even calculate jacobians
here's the same simulation with a cranked up wind speed.. the tiling is suppperr noticable but I should be able to fix it for the most part once I get the iFFT optimized better. The infrastructure is there its just I had to redo the entire algorithm like 3 times because of mapping issues

nah my original inverse fourier transform was using a parallel scheduler but I redid the algorithm again and the new one isnt hooked up to the scheduler yet
even then these calculations are expensive to begin with. Complex number multiplication with a complexity of N*Log2(N)
rn running at 64 samples. Holding up to 60 fps at least.. once its parallel itll probs be like 180 fps or smthn
roblox multi threading carries with those heavy math calculations
it just bugs me that there's a parallel phase and serial phase, its the main reason why I keep on rewriting my iFFT algo. Why cant we just run stuff on other threads then just poll the results 😩
