Hi, I’m having an issue installing Wand on Windows 11 (x64).

When I run Wand-Setup.exe, nothing happens at all. No error message, no popup — it just instantly exits.

I already tried:

  • Running as administrator
  • Moving it out of OneDrive
  • Running from C drive
  • Checking Windows Security (no blocks)
  • Running from Command Prompt (no output)

File size is about 169 KB.

Is there a full offline installer available?

Reinstall
  1. Use Add or Remove Programs or Control Panel to uninstall Wand.
  2. Find and delete these folders:
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\Wand
    -C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\Wand
  3. Restart your PC.
  4. Reinstall Wand by downloading from: https://wand.com/download

Yes, I already performed a full clean removal.

Wand is not currently installed on my PC.
I deleted all Wand/WeMod folders from AppData and ProgramData and restarted my PC.

The installer still instantly exits with no error.

Just to clarify:

The installer file itself (Wand-Setup.exe) does not open at all.
It does not launch, no window appears, and no error message is shown.
It instantly exits when I try to run it.

So Wand is never installed in the first place.

There's likely something to do with your antivirus or browser blocking to download. Can you try below instructions, @woven schooner ?

AV Exception

It's possible that your antivirus software is causing interference. Try whitelisting or adding exceptions for the following folders:

C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Wand
C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Wand

I am only using Windows Defender (no third-party antivirus).

There are no blocks shown in Windows Security history.
The file downloads correctly, but the installer file itself does not open at all.

It immediately exits with no warning or popup.

I also tried running it as administrator and from Command Prompt.

Can you try this?

Delete any folder related to WeMod/Wand in:
-C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\Wand
-C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\Wand

Delete the SquirrelTemp folder in C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\ then restart your pc and try installing again.

Here is a full summary of my situation:

  • OS: Windows 11 (x64)
  • Fresh install attempt (Wand is NOT currently installed)
  • Wand-Setup.exe file size: ~169 KB
  • Downloaded from the official website

Problem:
The installer file itself does not open at all.
No window appears, no error message, it instantly exits.

What I have tried:

  • Running as administrator
  • Moving the file out of OneDrive
  • Running from C drive
  • Deleting AppData\Local\Wand
  • Deleting AppData\Roaming\Wand
  • Deleting SquirrelTemp
  • Full restart after cleanup
  • Windows Defender shows no blocks
  • No third-party antivirus installed
  • Tested in Safe Mode (still instantly exits)

Event Viewer:
There is no crash log for Wand-Setup.exe.
However, ArmourySocketServer.exe (ASUS Armoury Crate) crashes with exception code 0xc0000005 around the same time.

Even in Safe Mode, the installer still exits immediately.

At this point, it seems the installer itself fails before launching.

Is there a full offline installer available?

Here is a detailed summary of my issue:

System:

  • Windows 11 (x64)
  • Fresh install attempt (Wand is NOT installed)
  • Installer downloaded from the official website
  • File size: ~169 KB

Problem:
The installer file (Wand-Setup.exe) does not open at all.
No window appears, no error message is shown.
It instantly exits when executed.

What I have tested:

  • Run as administrator
  • Moved file out of OneDrive
  • Run from C drive
  • Deleted AppData\Local\Wand
  • Deleted AppData\Roaming\Wand
  • Deleted SquirrelTemp
  • Restarted after cleanup
  • Windows Defender shows no blocks
  • No third-party antivirus installed
  • Tested in Safe Mode (same behavior)
  • Reinstalled Visual C++ 2015–2022 (x64)
  • Installed .NET Desktop Runtime 8 (x64)
  • Disabled Smart App Control
  • Disabled Memory Integrity
  • Stopped ASUS Armoury services

Event Viewer:
There is no crash log for Wand-Setup.exe.
However, ArmourySocketServer.exe (ASUS Armoury Crate) repeatedly crashes with exception code 0xc0000005 around the same time I attempt to run the installer.

Even after stopping Armoury services and testing in Safe Mode, the installer still exits immediately.

It appears the installer fails before launching.

Is there a full standalone/offline installer available?

Thank you for your help so far.

I have to go to work tonight, so I will get some sleep now.
I hope we can find a solution soon.

I will check back later.

Hey there thanks for taking the time to send such a detailed message (and the video). This is definitely a strange one. The only thing that stands out is that something on your Windows side (often antivirus/security) may be blocking the installer from running properly in the background.
Unfortunately, when Windows is interfering like this, there’s only so much we can do from our side. The best next steps would be to try a new Windows user profile, run a Windows repair, and double-check your antivirus/quarantine for anything that may have been flagged or blocked.
