It's possible that your antivirus software is causing interference. Try whitelisting or adding exceptions for the following folders:

Can you try verifying the game files on Steam? Just open your Library, right-click the game, go to Properties > Installed Files, and click “Verify integrity of game files.” After that, set Steam to offline mode and launch the game.

1.Use Add or Remove Programs or Control Panel to uninstall WeMod.
2.Find and delete these folders:
-C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeMod
-C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\WeMod
3.Restart your PC.
4.Reinstall WeMod by downloading from: https://api.wemod.com/client/download

Try disabling the overlay on the Wemod app by clicking the slider on the top-right and check if the mods work now.

If you haven’t already, try setting Steam to offline mode, then launch the game from Steam. Once you can move the character in the game, switch to WeMod, click "Play," and then try using the mods again.

Had similar problem when taking on the Cannoneer and Blade Bearer. I moved to a different area applied the mods Unlimited health and items then fast travelled back to the area of the two boss monsters and the mods worked fine. Cannot remember which area although it could have been the previous area.
