When i activate the overlay my character starts spinning in game with uneven intervals.

Yes, got it on steam. And if by new you mean the one that is ingame that i believe is in beta then yes. I wasnt aware of any "old" overlay.

The one with the alt+w. how about try enabling the alternate overlay hotkey and see if it persists.
In the WeMod app, go to Settings > Customization > Use alternate overlay hotkey. Toggle this On. Restart WeMod and try again.

I did try that actually but it's still doing it

I just learned that it only happens when you more your mouse, like to select a mod or use your scroll wheel to navigate the menu. Any mouse input while the overlay is open causes your ingame character to start rotating to the right depending on how much you move your mouse.
