Best case scenario - Re-install your GPU drivers and hope that fixes the issue

Middle case scenario - Turn off your computer, open up your case, and unseat and re-seat your graphics card (basically unplugging it and re-plugging it back into your motherboard). It may just need to be re-seated

Worst case scenario - Graphics card is cooked and you'll need a new one

Did anyone using Windows 11 Pro encounter a problem with BitLocker? I got it today and it requested a recovery key. Eventually by logging into my Microsoft account I was able to find it, but it wasn't a pleasant surprise. It said that the recovery key was needed to unlock my drive because Secure Boot policy has unexpectedly changed.
ps.. I have never changed any policies, let alone secure boot policy, on my laptop.

Means bitlocker was activated in windows at some point, when you make hardware changes or specific boot changes it will activate.

not sure what's going on with win 11 pro, but lately my PC would restart randomly. The event viewer would show Kernel 41. I did all the tests and still can't figure out why it's doing it. At first someone said to disable C-State which fixed it for a few weeks but then it came back. Maybe I just need a new fresh installation of windows lol

Overheating has also been causing it, but yeah....The fact your PSU is 10 years old it might be that.

Most common with kernel 41 is usually PSU or overheating, other more niche stuff is pretty usually rather rare or unlucky.

I had the same issue you did and my pc exceeded the specs, it would randomly restart with no bsod or warnings and a kernel error was finally able to be caught and they swapped out my PSU and never happened again

It would run totally fine until my gpu was trying to draw more power

PSU advancements have been rather large since then, so pretty good upgrade regardless and it isn't like PSUs are that expensive either. Like a good 850w will carry pretty much any system today.

true. ive had some luck using driver reviver tools online.. that said after using one a few months ago it bricked my pc.. Did a complete clean install of windows, used it again and it bricked it again.. so retrned it..
In most cases re-imaging your pc is usually the cleanest method of sorting things out.. back up data to cloud then usb boot / win 10/11 image and do clean install.. (be sure u have a copy of your network drivers for motherboard on usb too just in case..)

You shouldn't need to downgrade your graphics drivers... unless you're running a cracked version of the game

I have since a couple of days a new monitor (AOC 34inch 1440p 144hz )

My old monitor is a acer 1080p 75hz monitor.

I still dont have more than avg. 70 / 80 FPS on games like COD MW2.

Now i have the chance to buy a MSI GeForce RTX 3060, 12GB, Ventus 3X OC. Am i gonna have a upgrade in FPS or not? Im getting a little frustrated because i looked it up to get my settings correct on games and i really dont have better fps and stuff. Am i doing something wrong?

The people who buy a crazy high end GPU just to reach +180 in games aren't really doing it right.... that's like buying a 4080 to play minecraft without RT on.

Like a 3060 can easy get to +180 in games, just tweak the settings a bit and turn on DLSS and you will get there rather easy. You just won't do it on something higher than 1080p xD (If CPU allows ofc, however even in 1440p defo achievable in circumstances)

Well those 1440p pixels are basically stretched out to a larger area than they can technically handle, is why 1440p is sold usually as a 27 inch. So you might see a bit more blocky or unclear image than you should be having.

Just download afterburner and look with the overlay if you are downclocking with your GPU, I start to suspect this is a throttling issue

GPU temps don't really matter, idle or gaming, as long as it's under the safe maximum, which is usually 80c

Hell, mine's sitting at 53 C idle and it's fine

Like at most 20C or something atm, so add about 10 to 15 for an idle temp in a normal setting and case.... that should be nowhere near 50.

Regardless, idle temps don't matter too much. It's the temps when it's under load that could be an issue

If it's above 80 c when under load, then there's a problem

He and I have about the same weather and mine is like at very low 40s and is a way hotter GPU than his.

You can also see a problem when your temp barely changes regardless of load, his GPU was barely doing anything work and it was running the same temp. That to me looks like a thermal throttle especially when the GPU is performing about 50 % below it should be.

Hmm, depends on cooling as well. If you've got a really good cooling system, then temps may not raise as high. Though, in saying that, that would mean the idle temps would be lower

Hello fellas. I ve recently had an issue with my pc which ended trying to restore the whole windows 10 system using the problem solver of the OS.

When doing it the process went into a Loop of restarting the pc during the procees letting this error message:

Seeing that I decided trying to install the Os by the ISO in a flash drive.. So I deleted all the previous partitions on the disk but now I have this probiema and I have no idea what to do:

Bit it says: Windows canot be installed on this disk. It's possible that the hardware of this computer it snot able to boot from it. Make sure the disk driver it's enabled on the BIOS

Ive ran into another roadblock. I managed to configure my CPU correctly (had to go thru a few manuals to do so without blowing anything up, went well), but Bluestacks is still refusing to let me run an app player. There's likely a better APK emulator that doesn't require all this work, and my deadline is within the month. Seems like a lot of time, but I promise it isn't.

There's likely something right in my face that I'm not realizing. I'd appreciate any major observations

Hello, I still struggle to looking for answers with my loading issues on Baldur's Gate 3. There isn't a single game out there that can bring a modern GPU VRAM to it's knees when optimised properly, if they do then tell the devs on how to make a game.

VRAM has become console "true 4K", it's a whole lot of buzzwords invented in marketing which 99 % of people have no clue what it actually is.

However, getting a screenshot of your normal settings would help to figure out why here.

But i have wemod installed, and have no problems getting into it etc, but when it comes to playing something through wemod, im ALWAYS getting problems, regardless of what game i try to play. Ive tried adding wemod files to McAffee's exclusion folder, but this doesnt work. Im seriously considering scrapping mcaffee alltogether >.< Any advice would be super welcomed and appreciated!

Sounds odd, but most laptops have a emergency reset on the bottom. Try pressing it for 15-30 seconds. In rare occasions it can help even when u tried the recommendations above already

I have recently been having an issue where games I've installed on the xbox app will not launch at all. However, any games that are launched from a 3rd party, for example launching far cry 5 through xbox opens ubisoft first will work. Like keep the RAM in the first slot in, take the 2nd one out. If it boots then take the 1st one out and put the 2nd one in the first slot.. .if it again boots then RAM is cleared if it doesn't boot with 1 of them then you know that ram stick is bad

If both RAM doesn't give a signal then it's something else, then I would see if you can get a igpu connection to rule out the GPU and just go down the list

Could be your PSU, did you check to see if there is a power switch on the back? It may have been pressed. If you know how to use a voltmeter you can check for power coming out of the PSU, if not your best bet is to take it in to get tested.

Easiest way is just checking if fans spin and if all of them spin including of CPU cooler and GPU or not.

If they are then power is being asked by the board and given to all the hardware parts.

You rule out PSU, board, GPU etc through it (most of the times)

it's apparently made for a 32 bit version of the game but looking at steam as far as I'm aware it's always been 64 bit and there are no other executables in the game folder either so

If you're getting 32/64 bit error, usually you just need to swap the load order.
So launch game first, then hit Play on WeMod once game has loaded in

Open a Command Prompt (Run as Administrator) and enter this command (without quotes): "SFC /scannow"
This runs the System File Checker utility and repairs any of the files it finds issues with. SFC is a Windows utility, so you won't need to download anything to do this scan.

Press the Windows Key + R, type in SystemPropertiesAdvanced.exe and press Enter. Click on Settings under Startup and Recovery. Uncheck Automatically restart.
This will at least stop the system from automatically restarting when it BSODs. It's not a fix, but it makes it a bit easier to troubleshoot the cause of the BSOD. If something gives an error message immediately before the BSOD, you will at least be able to read and investigate it.

i think my pc has been crashing because of high memory usage. this is my 1st time on windows 11 so i didnt know what it would be like, its litearlly using half my memory with only discord open, anyone know how to fix this?

You running clean install or upgrade? You could try doing a mobo firmware upgrade if not done for a while just incase some changes on how memory is used? Just be certain you have right file before applying, or can be bad news if not using a gigabyte mobo (dual bios only thing gigabyte are good for)

Mem makers are pretty pointless, you could run "hijack this" and any entry in the 04 at start are programs starting with windows, you can then isolate rubbish like Adobe, OneDrive, etc and see if that helps.?

Screenshot of your taskmanager would be useful, which is sorted by ram usage.

That way we can easy see what is using all the RAM and help from there. Windows 11 itself doesn't use that much, so yaw to be a specific app.

Try the easiest sollution first of resetting your CMOS, iirc a bunch of such issues are solved by it.

Check control panel > maintenance and security, then under maintenance tab you should see a daily updates and errors thing, might help identify issues, also make sure the maintenance is running, once a day, default is 2am I think

Those are usually unreliable, because it nearly never have an actual clue what is going gone except software wise or smart.

Or the bios is still software, it's a rather new PC and seems to have the issue already for a longer period of time. If the bios had some sort of glitched moment... I mean...

And a lot of times resetting cmos to clear it's configuration could solve weird issues like that, so you force it to do it's checklist from scratch again. If that doesn't work then it becomes a bigger headache xD

That would be the next test which you can do rather easy too, he most likely has at least 2 sticks... so basically use 1 at the time and see if any of it crashes if 1 works fine and the other one doesn't... I mean don't have to look far

You can also still do stuff like memtest or even windows build in memory check

Other than that would just suggest going to Asus website and downloading all motherboard drivers,

And if completely stuck trying a driver search tool however I've had issues with some bricking my pc when running them.

Could be the trainer, try turning off the trainer between and loading screens etc. had similar issues in past. Games will get updates and trainers are hit and miss
Certainly surviving mars dies horribly with one of the 2 options on wemod
