Now I’m 41 with a 1940 $68k home I’m retired in that’s paid off with more sq footage and an acre of land an hour from the closest big city. I left Twitter 10 years ago when I realised it was nothing more than an Echo Chamber and I felt like my own opinions and views were being slightly influenced by it. Once I woke up to that fact, I immediately deleted my account after requesting and actually getting back all my data.
Facebook I got rid of because I started seeing more recommendations for pages and accounts, than I actually saw of my friends posts.
Now with the current owner of Twitter/X it's even more of a public restroom wall, and apparently Facebook is worse with the problem I mentioned than ever before.
Reddit has problems sure, but I never feel like I need to do anything more than steal memes, or occasionally post something awesome to Music related subreddits.
Now Discord...
Discord let's me control what i want to see, who I want to interact with, and it's the perfect amount of "Small Town" feel that's perfect for my ADHD and Panic Discorder.
I'll even toss them a few bones a month just as thanks, and to use ALL my emotes everywhere all at once.

In my case, i managed to arrange couple of hours of classes on Saturday targeting most importantly subjects while doing rest in free time on work on home, and university in general allow you to take correspondence course, you receive materials and stuff online, only have to take time off occasionally for exams to take in person.
