Depends on the game. Indie games likely rely on reports. Massive games like Rockstar, Bethesda, etc likely have anti-cheat bots which flag your account for moderator review if it behaves strangely. Some can also detect cheat software running in the background of your PC.

I'm still trying to learn cheat engine to create some cheat tables for free. I just learned hex editing for ps3 and ps4 saves, memory editing seems easier I just got to some how understand it.

that depends on taste really because I use IDA Pro to find addresses and hex values, finding the locations in save files if ASCII is encrypted junk text can be hard without knowing the in game value. That and knowing Little E and Big E. Knowing how the data is structured helps, save editing can be tricky might be even worse when the value is float and you have to convert that value to hex then flip the bytes to Big E.

I've noticed cheat engine doesn't work that well anymore I've tested a few games and it doesn't do anything. Such a sad time to be alive. I tested WeMod with 20XX shit worked pretty good, I crashed once but loaded back up to work just fine.

Well its not that cheat engine doesn't work. ITs just that scanning isnt really an efficient way to go about things. Function hooking is a better method. Cheat engine is good for finding the basic stuff , and you can do some really advanced stuff as well , but if you can do all the advanced stuff ... you might as well learn C++ while you're at it

also , a lot of games now just downright block cheat engine , so you will need to bypass that in some form. Generally building it yourself is a good idea. There's also ReClass and OllyDebug

Save Wizard just decrypts the save data and has some pre-made codes. I learn the quick code formats and such. I also learn how to search by pre-made codes to see how they did it.

I've learned how addresses work and how I can set searches from ASCII that doesn't move or have more than 1 search. I also learned a lot about decimal to hex, hex to float. And how much a byte really is 1 00 2 00 00 3 00 00 00 4 00 00 00 00.

Being able to find the correct area to mod in the hex table is the hard part. What I've learned, I've wrote a few pages. On stuff I've tried out.
