Yeah, I had the same thought. If they require a name/gamer tag change for branding reasons and they are that desperate to get their brand out there, why require a minimum gamer score. Why not let everyone join and just have the name change be the requirement? That way more players with your brand the more “advertising” you get. It’s not like having a low gs requirement (yes 1000 is low after achievements being around this long) is going to ensure “elite” or “high quality” players. Only reason I can think of that they require the 1000 gs it to make sure that people don’t spam them with a bunch of dummy accounts that never actually get used. Whatever the reason, it just sort of seems the two requirements run opposite of each other in regards to intent.
