The point isn't who owns it, the point is that it messes with the identity of Gears. You play Gears and see Ghost from CoD, or Master Chief from Halo, it is going to feel iffy.

CoD operators won't save Gears. Why would they? Halo 4 tried to copy CoD and that died faster than the original three games. Trying to do it again with Gears 6 would be a death sentance.

The vibe would be ruined when I see Ghost shooting at a locust drone. I'd just feel... disappointed? Like the terminator sets have already ruined vibes enough, Halo was iffy and CoD would just be... Nail in the coffin.

And I'd think that is bloody stupid. Which is why we probably won't see eye to eye on this. We are too different in our views and ways, not saying either is wrong or right, to fully understand each other.

Like if you want recolors that’s okay but most people want more. People nowadays need more. It’s a fact and catering to a small number of people rather than making the game more modern is the reason a lot of games are struggling to keep up. People want player expression and if your against any form of fun skins or whatnot in gears of war and they don’t want to do character creation then what is keeping a new player in gears 6

I'm all for more player expression, I fully agree there. I just think doing cross-overs is the wrong way to go about it.
Being able to make your own Drone or Cog Gear would be cool, and I'd love to see that. I just don't think playing as Ghost from Call of Duty wouldn't be the best way to go about this issue, since Gears does struggle with fitting in the modern age (representation of the player mainly).

I was thinking far more restricted player creation, though that does give me the idea for mods. Gears has always needed some mod support, that'd be great for custom games.

But I do agree. Some good mod support could make the game infinity more playable. Horde with custom bosses, classes and characters would feel refreshing. Even if it was CoD mods... unofficial crossovers I'm fine with, as long as it sticks to the modded realm.

It’s the opposite effect of seeing hyper realistic mods in the Sims 4 which is a cartoony style game
