It is 25% extra that u pay when u make a buy req. if u make a buy req of 1000 then u will have to pay 1250 which is 25% extra, but if u pay 1250 for something then the seller will receive 1000 which is 20% less than 1250.

This is a common misconception players occasionally get confused about
For the sake of clarity:

X = The amount before 20% commission/tax
Y = The amount after 20% commission/tax
* = multiplying
/ = dividing

What you are usually multiplying with to get Y is X * 0.8, since the commission/tax is 20%.
But why does Y * 1.2 not result in X then?

That's because Y is not 100% of the price, it's 80%.
What you think you're calculating with Y * 1.2 is 100% + 20% tax, but you are actually calculating with a number that has already been lowered by 20%.
Since Y is 80% of the original price, you are essentially calculating 0.8 * 1.2 = 0.96. This explains why the number is slightly lower than when calculated the other way around.

To find the correct original price, instead of calculating Y * 1.2, you need to calculate:

Y / 0.8 = X, or
Y * 1.25 = X

Why does multiplying with 1.25 work if commission/tax is 20%?

1.25 in the context of the calculation does not mean "100% + 25% commission/tax".
1.25 is just a scaling factor that takes into account that Y is already only 80% of the original price.
If Y is 80% of X, then X is 100%. So, if you want the multiplication to be correct, you need to find a number you can multiply with that turns Y into 100% of the original price:

100 / 80 = 1.25

I hope this explanation was able to clear up how the commission/tax is calculated both ways. There is no „25% tax on buy requests“

i can explain it in baby terms for him :
the math he is doing is reversed , 25% of 4 is 1 , u add 25% of 4 and u get 5 total , so therefore (for him) its 25% , but the tax isnt like that , tax comes from the input not output , the input would be 5 , and 20% of 5 is 1 , making it 4 as the output , therefore the tax is 20% and not 25% .

I never said the commission was 25%. I clearly said that when you place a buy request, you pay 25% extra compared to what the seller receives. For example, if you want the seller to get 60k, you have to pay 75k — that’s 25% more than 60k. That doesn’t mean the commission is 25%, it means you’re paying 25% above the seller’s amount, which is how buy requests work.

The commission is still 20% of the total transaction — that’s basic math. 20% of 75k is 15k, and 75k - 15k = 60k. But if you’re starting from the seller’s amount (like 60k), then yeah, you have to add 25% to cover the fee. It’s about the direction you calculate from. You misunderstood my comment and thought you were correcting me — but I was already correct. 😂
