Disabling wifi from control center -> Waiting until it disconnects -> Enabling it again Or Restarting the game should fix that.

That usually happens when the game is unable to perform the validation or it failed.
This could either be a one-time thing or reoccur. If it is the 2nd option then:

Make sure no apps are interfering with the game or its files. (Such as Cheats, GFX tools etc)
Make sure the game is downloaded from the official store(s). (E.G Apple app store, Amazon app store, Google play store)
Your device is updated to the latest version it supports.
All background apps are closed.
Your device is not rooted / jailbroken and is running it's manufacture's stock ROM.
The game is on the latest version. (Reinstalling can also work)

Try these steps / methods :

Restart the game.
Try restarting your Wi-Fi / restarting your router.
Try a different connection (Mobile data, different network) to check if it is just your current network not being stable.
Check on another device and see if you can that way.
