There is no solving this problem outside of solving the actual game design issues making defense feel terrible

We kinda need it at this point. Been seeing people switch to attack more often

Cooldown won’t do anything, people will wait (like they already do now on spectate.) People need to be able to set preferences so they can be put into matches they actually want to play in most of the time.

It’s all just skirting around the issue. Let people do what they want easier from the getgo and balance matches based on that.

weak horizon
#

Remember when thayic was put into beta?

pseudo palm
#

And nothing will solve it 100% I agree, but this’d be a hell of an improvement.

weak horizon
#

Worse part, this is basically the band-aid overwatch tried, the preference thing

pseudo palm
#

I’d rather people be where they want to be than have perfect balance

weak horizon
#

It would just increase the matching time

#

A lot increasing, i say

#

This also won't work cause the spaghetti code of chivalry 2 keep interfere on each others already

pseudo palm
#

It… isn’t..? Most folks just want to be on their preferred faction, and hell I personally prefer defense! I’m fine with matchmaking taking longer if the match is what I actually want to play.

#

I simply think the downsides of implementing this system are worth it

Basically, ya forgot the vote from asians

#

For more information, ask cheese

pseudo palm
#

In fact I’d sat the lions share of the playerbase doesn’t give a shit at all what they’re on.

#

How many people per match are really scrambling to get on attack. 3 or 4? Out of 60?

#

Actually fuck it. Leave it as it is then.

weak horizon
#

If they failed the spec joining, they would just quit

#

Which make the ratio between def and atk being 1:2, and even 1:3

#

One more thing add up to this is that ya can only be balanced out if ya die

#

Meaning that, as long as ya alive, ya can't be forced to be def

#

I mean they can literally use some code too force suicide and a warning time message

pseudo palm
weak horizon
# pseudo palm Can I help you?

They can do the tf2 approuch, which is if there's gonna be a message announcing that ya gonna be force suicide if there's no one dying on around 10 seconds, after that if not enough people died out to replace ya position of balancing, ya gonna get forced to suicide

#

Which then immediately switch team

pseudo palm
#

No I think it should be left exactly how it is

#

In fact, remove swap limits and team size limits.

weak horizon
#

That would NOT help, cause there's no one to fight, and the W/L will increase infinitely

#

Which then make people quit the game, rather than teach them any lesson

#

Cause ya know, why bother playing this game with this kind of boring solution

pseudo palm
#

Yeah I mean if we’re not interested in taking steps to make the experience meaningfully better, why not make it worse?

#

Reduce def to 40p in 64p lobbies. Add in the preference menu and purposely put people where they do NOT want to be.

weak horizon
pseudo palm
#

If we’re not interested in improving it, yes.

i much prefer literally every other solution on team switching than only wanting a game overhaul

#

much better to iterate on imperfect solutions than to dunk on every solution that isn't basically designing a new game

#

team rebalance at the beginning was a great start, they can just continue to iterate from that

I think a better tutorial inside the game would fix alot of the issues. People wanna attack because it's just easier to stay alive, you can always back up and run back. Defenders are mostly without a retreat option. But since the tutorial only scratches the surface of what's possible in this game, new players just don't have a chance to catch up without YouTube, discord or whatever.

There should be tutorials for the different objectives, 1vX the different dodges and so on. With the new balance features I actually got a lot of good games in the queue matchmaking.

But people are just not aware of how to play the maps or different objectives. How to fight 1vX until your teammates arive, not because because they ere bad, but because nobody told them how it works, outside of some feints, drags, accels and basic counters.
