So in level 110 and I’ve been enjoying the game for quite a while as a casual fun hack and slash but I’ve noticed that sometimes this game does not stick to it’s core fundamentals.

Game emphasizes camera manipulation to get around block but sometimes I will literally see someone block with the side of their body (especially with the use of a shield)

Active parry can either last forever or literally just not work (clip linked) I’ve had both circumstances happen ito me and my enemies b4

Overall, mostly skill issue but I see this problem so many times and I’ve seen other people crying about it too so idk 🤷‍♂️

There is a major issue with blocking and countering right now, dont know exactly what it is but Ive seen both happen from attacks coming from behind a player

Active Parry is weird. I'm not sure if it is actually inconsistent or it only feels that way due to its weird, flexible nature.
From what I understand, active Parry from counters can extend if it blocks incoming strikes. So sometimes it really is noticably longer than other times. But then, I do have some clips of people landing hits on me that should've easily been blocked by active Parry.
I think the variability of active Parry combined with choppy servers create this feeling of inconsistency.

active parry is based on whether or not you're still in windup(it's not fully the same as windup iirc but it's closely proportional enough) and whether or not your active parry has been hit(extended).

I think heavies were technically supposed to count as still in windup, but the game doesn't actually provide good feedback about that, and with how inconsistent active parry has been due to the choppy servers it's hard to get absolute feedback on that.

When you feinted you dropped your active parry(other than the part where sometimes we feint and it doesn't go away, but I think that's a bug and not intended) because you didn't counter a second different attack.
