why in the world would you defend this?
whenever the teams are stacked i like to switch to make them even worse
its not so much about winning as it is removing the gremlin teammates attacking me from behind or turning winnable fights into guaranteed losses

because the problem is that they've made defense not fun for most of the playerbase, and removing swapping just means people requeue more often.
they were asking taz not you tho, those are your reasons not theirs
you know why you end up on defense on bridgetown, thayic stronghold, and the tenosia maps more than you queue into other maps? It's because they're shit and people don't want to play them.
You know why you end up on defense in general more often than offense when queueing into lobbies? People on defense leave. People on offense stay. One of these is more fun than the other on average in aggregate.
removing swapping isn't the solution, but torn banner will never fix their dogshit map and spawn design 🤷
defense isn't even weaker which is why it'd take significant reworking to do this without making defense too strong
arguably the best change to team switching would be to remove the change they did before that requires ppl to go spec
gatekeeping this feature that according to some- leads to more fun- behind some UI trickery is unfair imho
the first step they could do without necessarily requiring major reworking is to use their stats on average point capture times to figure out good baselines for a time added system. Should be something like average point capture time+1 minute gained for each point captured on top of some reasonable base timelimit and then see how it goes rather than using their current time set system
having points not be intrinsically worthless would go a long way to getting players to play defense
and defense is mostly fun when the lobby is aligned toward the goal
might as well ask for fairies to be real tbh
Just remove teamswapping when out of the pre-game and add desertion penalties for ppl constantly leaving to requeue

Then how would get away from a team killer that I tried to VK but it doesn't work and yet the game doesn't kick him out
sounds like bandaid fixes which encourage people to leave a game which already has poor retention. If your fix is to make more people quit the game your fix is bad.

I mean, it looks like TB won’t make the big changes needed to make defense more playable so might as well do something simple like eliminating teamswapping mid-match. And I personally don’t care for deserters anyway. If they stop playing the game, oh well

Punishing the playerbase even further for torn banner's mistakes will ensure this game dies faster so that you stop having a game to play.
My guy, it’s been 2 years since release. These issues were there from the beginning and nothing has been done about them. At this point, griefers/leavers/teamswitchers can go fuck off
Honestly i dont see the game lasting too long at all.
From what i been hearing and seeing people are leaving, not bothering with the devs anymore.
