I think you're very bad, I play on console and I don't see any problem with this crossplay, it's not that disadvantageous. Only downside is maybe in First Person camera.

Most of the time in 64p you have to win a duel to get behind enemy lines so you can kill 5 people from the back. Or you have to win a duel to survive after getting those 3 kills. And every single time I die from a duel I immediately check the name and if they have the crossplay symbol. Unsurprisingly 90% of the duels I lose are exclusively from pc players

Yep same, grew up on console my whole life and went to pc for 4 years. Aim on console is way harder. On pc you can just aim where you want and flick to targets. The accuracy is incomparable even with aim assist on console

But i will say that the aim assist on chivarly console is a lil too strong. It should be toned down just a lil bit. Having said that even with the strong aim assist it has now pc is way better for accuracy

I believe they said it was subject to change in the future. But my theory is that it stops new console players getting matched up with the 2000 or so remaining PC players who have 3+ years of experience. This way they'll only be matched with other new players.

Not relevant in Chivs case since the game released the same time on all platforms.

Same side feints are impossible to do on the go on console unless you preemptively plan ahead, their was a little rework they did that allowed console to just tap the button again to do a same side feint and it was extremely beneficial & made it extremely easy to do, but of course there was a bunch of bugs attached to it & so they removed it all together instead of patching the bugs. The developers don’t care about console, if they did they would reimplement the same side feint rework back & fix missing console chase mechanic

Actually had a problem with that because I turned on the option to have like uh aim based swinging or whatever, instead of pressing the button to do alt swing it does it based on your movement.

And if you kept pressing to swing and shit it would feint it on controller.

And when I panicked I would spam the attack button and keep feinting instead of just swinging

It's easy to default to the excuse that PC is automatically better but there are plenty of gamepad players out there staying competitive with the best MnKB players. I have access to rebinds playing gamepad on PC and I have no desire to rebind any controls. Most console players won’t even be passionate enough about the game to give it the time of day to complain about the issues so they get fixed and the games gets better. Most will just stop playing and go to other games without second thought. You guys should appreciate people like me, @nocturne knot, @glass moth, @wise depot and many more who are advocating for fixes for console so the playerbase doesn’t die out…this game won’t be on game pass forever and once it leaves game pass you better hope the game is in a good enough state or those lobbies with 80% console players will turn into 90% pc players with a couple of console players. I understand that PC players have an advantage towards console players and have many features that console players don't have. I hope someone at TB starts reading their reviews from console players ever since it came out on gamepass. I have both Xbox and PS5, but I read the reviews on Xbox and boy oh boy a lot of console players weren't happy that PC players were literally ruining their experience and said that they're tired of seeing PC tryhards ruining the game. I notice that the player count has gotten down a bit and right now 12 of my friends stopped playing the game because of this issue. Also when I saw the reviews, some were saying like " how can they do a double feint but we can't?", "why do they have game chat but console players"?, "why is there mute button if there's nothing to mute"?, and so on and on. @patent crow It's my pleasure to talk about some issues with the game on console, which I know some since I've been playing this game for about almost 2 years now. I'm still playing the game but I'm stil hoping that TB can do something about the community but mainly those who are on console.

A few things, PC players are going to have more of an edge since mouse and keyboard opens more precise inputs over a controller, they also have more access to buttons via keyboard. PCs are generally more expensive because parts are more higher end, so the extra money that goes into a PC comes with the convenience of customization, modding, stability and... just overall convenience.

It would be silly for a console player to make such statements like "tryhard sweats" and that they ruin games/playerbases when the average baseline for players originally started on PC. The results you get are tied to the level of investment you put into your operating machine and overall skill if this is an issue of winning or losing. But if this is an issue of the advantages PC players get, then invest in a PC. Just like cars A $500 dollar console isn't gonna get you the same performance and mileage as a $1000+ Computer.

Elite contollers or scuf controllers can bind certain controls to paddles. The paddles help a ton with managing crouching and jabs but you pay for these controllers. Also, fair warning, once you buy a controller with paddles youll never want any other type so be prepared for that

Console players facing PC players doesn’t seem to be as much of a problem as is console having performance issues and the game itself having balance issues involving certain weapons

which PC can more effectively exploit

As a console player, i don't really have an issue with cross play. The play stile difference between platforms is generally very noticable however.
The only main issue i have is that PC players can same-attack-feint while console players cannot (or at least not in a consistent, logical way). This is a huge disadvantage, especially in direct engagements that are slightly more advanced than not at all.

100%. Same attack feints, Ingame chat and 120fps mode for next gen consoles is all we need. Pc is not the problem, the lack of console features is.

Do it after a riposte. Doesn’t work. And the counter thing is completely bs, the animations are way more telegraphed and costs more stam than a normal feint.

Same attack feints like on pc are possible but the timing is really strict and it’s impossible after a Riposte. I have special trigger that are like mouse clicks and the timing is still to strict on some weapons like 1h to do it reliably

Tbh I also think aim assist should be toned down a bit on console. Not only to reduce salt from the pc crowd, but also because it's really boring. When i play archer, 50% of the time i don't even look where i'm about to shoot because i trust the game to aim the arrow for me. Archer is kinda tedious as is since all i do is aim and shoot. Aim assist just flattens it out even more.

they fixed chase mechanic on console. Console also technically has some movement advantages due to analog stick superiority. Broadly though, PC has the advantages of access to actual high refresh rate, the ability to edit the engine.ini file for visual clarity and lowering the bar to accessibility to high framerates to take advantage of better displays, and PC can literally just play on controller and have a better version of the console experience(due to rebinds) while even being able to use chat to defend themselves from votekick abuse in duel and ffa servers.

it's not about need. It's about whether or not it's good, and it's good. What are you going to do if 6 xbox archers look at you with longbows and shoot in your general direction other than die? Now give them crossbows and let them jump shot over walls.

aim assist should be entirely removed and the game should just have gyro support, but Microsoft, being an ass backwards company, got pissy when people didn't like kinect and abandoned motion control entirely afterward

aim assist for dual analog input has outlived its usefulness and even outside of chiv only continues to exist because of refusal to implement something which offers tracking on par with or better than mouse(with worse macroadjustments/flicks), being gyro input as an industry standard

the world is also probably not ready for this, but if a modern implementation of motion-tracked input(not just the razer hydra) was available for standard "flat" gaming with current VR levels of tracking quality, particularly in hand-tracking form, mouse could already be obsolete even for general desktop use.

Problem is console players complain about the results they get by settling for the convenience (which imo is not so convenient even at the price factor). And blame PC players instead of considering that this is a result of playing on limited peripherals that they themselves choose.

If a console is £500, a decent PC that's future proofed would run around £1,200. £2,000 would provide parts for a really good one but not really necessary. Considering that a £1,200. could last you 7 to 10 years. Consoles you gotta pay a monthly subscription on top of your console so if you have that console for 7 years and have been paying for a £10/mo live subscription: ((12x 10) x 7) = £840, add that to your console, you get £1,340. Which winds up being more than PC

not forced into dx12 necessarily, but the game is much better optimized for dx12 and you want to use it because it's a quite significant FPS increase over dx11 on any cards which actually support dx12
