I do agree they could introduce different handling styles to pad out the arsenal. for example reverse dagger: slower stabs, faster shorter slashes without hitstun. Stanced spear: little quick slashy attacks but requires you to ready it and reduces movement. Expert crossbow: forces you to stand completely still and crouched but increases fire-rate.

No, I think this would mess with the over all skill differences in weapons. Maybe add the sword, but leave it as having its own stats that aren't amplifies upon countering.
