Replace half the Dev Streams with a QnA

Community engagement and discussion between developer and player is worse than ever. The community feels neglected and in general we feel like we have very little impact on the direction of the game. These forums are an improvement on the old Discord channel but they have not addressed the overarching issues that torn Banner facilitates.

We do not feel like our criticisms or our discussions are being acknowledged in any meaningful way. This leads to a few in the community to question the validity of the community management of the game, and some even start throwing out insults. To put it bluntly, people are getting angry and you need to do something. While their anger is not justified, I don't blame them. Do better.

I suggest you replace half of the dev streams with q&a's. They don't have to be live, as I know that it would be much less stressful on torn banner to be able to formulate a structured, well written answer for all the questions they will be sent in. I suggest that questions can be filtered through the Discord helpers so that when they reach the development team there is an organized list of high quality questions that actually pertain to improving the state of the game.

Oh, and also this should obviously be accompanied by actually answering these questions. Saying things like "we have nothing to say" on specific topics is absolutely unacceptable. Do better.

At first, this may be overwhelming and there may be a lot of questions to burn through, but in the long run if you are able to consistently reassure your players of the current standing of development by answering their questions on a consistent schedule, even if that schedule is as infrequent as a bi-weekly q&A posted on Discord, that would be best. Unfortunately, the initial boom of questions is simply caused by the development team neglecting said questions for over a year. But you can be redeemed. I believe in torn banner and I truly believe that all of the developers want the best for the game, but we know things that you don't, and you know things that we don't. Talk to us. Or watch your game burn and die.

Lol, yeah I’m never going to sit and watch a developer livestream on Twitch. Every time they announce a new one, I think to myself “Gee, if only they took half the time they spend doing that bs and actually responded to the community…” It’s like, c’mon

I agree, except I still watch the dev streams because sometimes they bring me good information

but they don't need to be as frequent as they are. I just need one stream per update, so like every month or couple of months? replace the rest with QnA

How about having a community manager that plays the game? I don’t get how someone can be the community manager while not playing in said community 🤷‍♂️

They’re a community manager and there has been little to no response from the mountains of feedback the devs get

Even if the only feedback considered was that which is well written and overwhelmingly voted for, that would be preferable to silence

Besides less people would troll/ping devs/leave the game if the idea presented in this thread was implemented
