In my quest to find a regular server like the experiences I've had in the past, it has forced me to look at creating a server with all the silly mods removed. If there is already a server like this, DM me. I'll join and donate along with my wife.
"Silly" is relative. You have to suspend disbelief for many things in this game, but let's not make it worse. This is the apocalypse, not a shopping mall.
- No Teleports. Are server owners putting this in because it attracts more players? You can't get any less immersive than this.
- No in-game tokens
- No Voting rewards. I can see a little value in this, but lets not go overboard.
- No Donor cities. I would rather donate to a server that DOESN'T have this. This alienates players who want to build in the world and trade organically.
- No Massive backpack inventories. Way overdone.
- No Zombie health bars. Just no
- No Personal Traders
- No Other silliness
All that being said, I do like a sense of community. I am open to a community horde base, and an empty central building where players can set up seller stalls. Just want it to be Warrior difficulty, 90 minute days, max players like 25 or so. I've toyed with removing trader quests. Remember when this game was about exploration and not a theme park? Not sure if this would work though. Would also consider removing anything involving storms and biome progression. Stability is important. Removing things like drones and vehicles left out might have to occur. Also car respawners are a multiplayer necessity.
I've neither the time or inclination to deal with setting this up, but I have the funds to head up the server. Might be a pipe dream but looking for interested moderators. There would have to be server resets, player tickets, handling server installs etc. If you read this far, nice!
