Right now the bodycam filter is experimental only, but it does need improvements. The flashlights are way to bright on most surfaces, when lighting at something you can’t see it because it’s too bright. I also don’t like how blue it’s like, it’s like a blue ray movie. And the camera movement needs some adds. I think lens motion and more like VR movement so it feels more real.

And also (maybe it’s intended) aiming with anything but a pistol is a nightmare

Any sort of light you cast is blinding at so many angles you are actively burning out your retinas using the body cam toggle. And punish yourself by using it (the body cam) on anything but a relatively well lite room. Not to mention the inability to properly aim in and sort of meaningful way.

The exposure is purposely overblown to make it look like a bodycam, changing that would make it look a lot less like a bodycam

If you mean unusable in any sort of indoor area, then they succeeded. Same with the nvg, as they are worse than using any sort of light you can use as of this moment. As is, there is currently no reason to use either as no enemy currently reacts to your lights. As of right now, the body cam feature is a novelty you turn on for 5 seconds, realize you can't see f all because nvg provide less lighting than even the default shoulder lamp, regardless of being in body cam mode or not. Only to realize the best method of illuminating dark areas renders you blind with overblown bloom effects while in body cam mode. You just turn it off and never touch it again. I get that it is meant to just be something fun. But I stand by the fact they need to consider leaning more towards making it gaming friendly and somewhat useable, than sacrificing that just for the sake of "muh realism."

Low quality bodycam footage is cool to look at

#

You make it no longer low quality and it's just normal gameplay with slightly different camera settings

At least then it'd be more than a 5 second novelty and you can actually see something. Even just removing the blinding light would be a marked improvement and make it worth using now and again.

Most of the point is that its hard to see

#

This isn't even a realism thing, most of the point of the mode is to make it harder to see for the sake of coolness and difficulty
