The team are aware of the issue.
What I have noticed has improved it for me is that it does not happen when I am not tabbed out. Make sure you let the game do it's connecting/loading without you being tabbed out.
Use vsync and fullscreen for extra frames and smoothness as well.

I've been having a lot, and I mean A LOT, of times where the game freezes when trying to load into the game. The "PlayerUnkown's Battlegrounds" black & white splash screen appears, but the 3 loading dots on the bottom right are frozen. I have to close the game via task manager and relaunch and re-ready up.
This happends 7/10 times ever since the 5th update. Has there been reports of other people experiencing this? 2 of my friends have this too btw.

Because PUBG is horribly optimized, it has been this way forever. Slowly bit by bit it has gotten better. But then blueballs do things like forced post processing which make the game look awful and run worse again
