Yeah like the title says Wii room has this black bar, is it something to do with this being widescreen?

When I load it on usb loader gx using the steps above It is all in Japanese

However if I load it in usb loader gx

It is in japanese

If it helps in usb loader gx it detects Wii room as "Wii no matter"

check your USB Loader GX loader settings, you may have the language set to japanese or something
