I've been browsing a lot of forums, and there seems to be no black and white answer. I've done it before, but I dont know if its safe enough to repeat because I may have got lucky. The nand that I have only consists of homebrew and bootmii. No priiloader. I tried to minimize the amount of mods before I backed up just in case. Thanks.

i mean as long as the nand is from a similar model console (e.g family edition) then you should be fine restoring

it's not safe to do afaik as the keys on the nand won't match with that of the console, preventing it from booting

just got 5 wiis to mod and I did not want to make a backup if each wii so I thought I could just chuck one of the nands in each sd card
they're practically the same (lu30-lu33s)
