as long as its compatible with USB 2.0 and formatted as FAT32 yes
how much space does it have?
ohhhh
it should be good
also some 3.1 drives have compatibility for 2.0
so you'll have to try and see
if USB Loader GX identifies it while its booting up then it works
If I show you some hdd on Amazon ok you tell me if they work so if my hard drive doesn’t work
Sure

not sure why this one says NTFS because you can just format it
also
ok
i think this will work i saw another version of it
Alrighty then
thank you
No problem!
Also, if you have to format it in FAT32 (and you need to, if you're using USB Loader GX) and Windows doesn't give you the option to, try downloading rufus and do a no-image format to FAT32.
isnt guiformat more easy?
Can't say for sure, since Rufus has worked for my intents and purposes.
Also, Wii USB ports aren't known to be very powerful either. In case the drive doesn't mount, try getting a USB-A split cable, and plug both into the Wii's USB ports.
ntfs is also supported
i have a 1tb hard drive formatted on ntfs and works fine
oh thats great to know actually
only gamecube games require fat32 and dont work with ntfs
I do fat 32
Then
OK about the hard drive It keep shutting off my Wii and not detecting it I form it correctly I did everything right so I’m gonna assume it doesn’t work. I’m gonna send you a picture of it.
just saw this website linked and 👀
(sorry for offtopic)
how are you plugging it into your wii
like are you using a splitter or is it externally powered or is it just the 1 usb port
I have a vertical weight so it’s the one on the right I am using a splitter for HDMI cause I have an HDMI adapter it is externally powered
Wii
right so its just a single usb port being used by the hard drive
if thats the case then thats probably your issue
No two One to power it and the other for the Wii usb
Yep
Can you help me tomorrow or no
I can respond anytime
possibly but im sure by the time im next available someone else will be able to help
if no one else has stepped in then i’ll give it a shot though :>
OK I got the hard drive for work with the we keep shutting off every once in a while, when USB loader crashes, how does it when the hard drives plugged in and unplugged and plugged the weed back in? It will turn on not before I unplug the hard drive.
I don’t know if it’s a hard drive that’s causing it a crash or USB loader GX
sorry i’ve been busy all day
sorry could you re-explain whats going on with it im a little bit confused
OK I got the hard drive to work. I think it only crashes when USb loader crashes but the games are not working, they’re not booting
None of them?
Yes I renamed the files myself so I might try wii back up manager do you think that will work?
Try and see if that works, reminds me of the PS2 OPL
Ok
Wait do you have to do anything d2x cios or no cause I got mine from open shop channel for USb loader gx
You have to setup d2x CIOS, it’s mandatory
If you haven’t done that, go look up the guide for it at Wii.hacks.guide
Ok
Have used it before, but it deleted itself, but I used it when I originally mod the Wii
OK there’s a software I can see if I have the stuff set up for the D2XCISO try doing that and if I do have them installed, I can try to put the numbers in the games before launching them. Maybe that will work
Ohhh
