hey guys, so i want to jailbreak my wii, but when i must update it, it says it cant due to the internet but the internet is fine is there anyway to fix it i cant find anything on youtube i get an error code 32004. i know the code means it is caused by someone who had modded the Wii in the past, whether it was you or someone else, and installed a System Menu with a revision number higher than 4.3's revision number. Thus, when the Wii tries to update, it thinks it's already on the latest System Menu. how would i go about fixing this issue?

Are you already on version 4.3?
Here's information about your error:
Class for error 3xxxx: Expanded feature error codes.
Section for error 32xxx: An error occurred during the network update-related processing.
Error for error 32004: Internal error: Contents invalid or NAND damaged.
All information is from Wiimmfi unless noted.
(Just wanted to check the error)
ok
You could mod the Wii before updating it (in a non-official way), but I don't remember very well. Also, I seem to remember that it's risky.
Don't do it for now, I'm not sure.
i knew there would be away of updating unofficially
but is that the only way to fix it
Idk, that's what I'm trying to remember (I've been inactive for a while)
ok do worries i understand i get in the same postions at times when it comes to stuff like this
but get back to me when u can
Sorry, I had to do something else in the meantime. Anyway, I think it's the only solution. (But I would like to have confirmation first, because I'm afraid to say to do risky things when I'm not entirely sure)
ok cool let me know
do you have Priiloader installed by any chance? (you can check by holding the reset button when turning on the Wii), if yes go into it and disable "block online updates" and try to do the update again.
u meam MIIboot?
try to follow this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2-aOQ4QyP4
You must have priiloader and system menu hacks for this to work.
so i was told by others not to update and jailbreak it from the version it is on
That's a different error code. It's when you blocked the updates in Priiloader
i didn't notice, then he needs to reinstall the system menu if im not wrong
you can use any exploit to launch a wad manager, and reinstall your system menu
Yes, that's what I was thinking...
I think he needs to mod his Wii first and then updating it the non-official way (https://wii.hacks.guide/update.html)
such as Indiana Pwns, return of the jodi, bannerbomb, etc..
str2hax should work on 4.2
you can use the exploit to launch Wii Mod Lite, reinstall system menu 4.2 or whatever he has, update and then mod it
yes that works too
Don't recommend Wii Mod Lite. yawmME is more stable and safe
it was for the example, you can use any wad manager, as long as he downloads the correct system menu for his region it will be good
Whats the menu region? like what letter does it show after 4.2 in the Wii settings?
E
i was given this guide https://wii.hacks.guide/wilbrand
i dont know if it will work but the guy i was talking to seems very certain about it
Yeah, Wilbrand works on Wii Menu 3.0 or higher, so it works in 4.2
To mod it you can use either str2hax or Wilbrand.
str2hax is easier to do but requires an internet connection that allows you to enter custom DNS.
Then, to update the Wii, if you want, do it by following the guide I sent above, otherwise you might as well not do it, but it would be better to have the Wii at the most recent version.
that is wht i am thinking
why should i not mod it now?
and not update?
i think you should update it first
You can launch YawmME wad manager to reinstall your system menu, first you need to download the correct System menu for your region, in your case **4.2E. **
IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE THE LETTER IS THE SAME AS YOUR Wii, IF YOU INSTALL THE WRONG REGION YOU WILL SEMI-BRICK.
Then you need to download a program on your PC called NUS Downloaded, from there follow these steps:
- Check the option on the bottom named "Pack WAD"
- Choose System Menu **4.2E **by following the attached screenshot, AGAIN MAKE SURE THE LETTER IS THE SAME AS YOUR WII, IF YOU INSTALL THE WRONG ONE YOU WILL SEMI-BRICK.
- Press the button "Start NUS Download!" at the top
- Wait till it says "NUS Download Finished."
- Now go to the folder where you extracted NUS Downloader, there will be a new folder named "titles", open it, then open 0000000100000002, after that open the **482 **folder and you should see a file named "RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v482.wad".
- Create a folder on your SD card named "WAD" and copy the "RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v482.wad" file into it
- Download yawmME wad manager from: https://hbb1.oscwii.org/api/v3/contents/yawmME/yawmME.zip
- Extract the ZIP, open the "yawmME" folder and there you will find a file named "yawmME_boot.elf", rename this file to "boot.elf" and copy it to your SD Card.
- Now launch YawmME with any exploit you like, choose "SD Card" and install the "RVL-WiiSystemmenu-vXXX.wad"
- When the process is finished reboot your Wii, connect to the internet and download the update the normal way, after you are on version 4.3 you can follow https://wii.guide/letterbomb to hack your Wii.
this will restore the stock 4.2 menu
ok, so in short doing that will fix the problem (meaning it will update) and my wii will be in stock condition?
yes, that should resinstall the stock 4.2 system menu, after that you can go and update to 4.3
make sure you download 4.2E from NUS Downloader, it needs to be the exact same version and region
otherwise you can brick the system
ok i will do so now thank you i will update you on what happens
👍
Don't update to 4.3 the official way, it's dangerous on a modded Wii. I've helped someone that bricked his Wii by doing it some time ago
ok now im confused
official way should be good, updating from 4.1 is riskier because of the Boot2 update
if he wants extra protection he can also use ModMii protection IOS, that will prevent brick
Yes I don't think it's that common in the update from 4.2 to 4.3, but the risk is there, and it has happened to someone
where? i did it on friend wii without any problem
actually he can send us a SysCheck before installing any update
so do i do this or no?
so we can confirm if there is already an IOS in slot 80, which might brick the system
download the files only for now
https://github.com/WiiDatabase/nusdownloader/releases/tag/v1.9-mod-nusfix
this is the right thing yes?
yes
for now only download them
do not install it
how do i check this?
you should try to launch SysCheck app on the wii, so we can make sure if it's safe
Yes i know, you can launch it if you have any of the following games
Lego indiana jones
Lego star wars: the complete saga
Lego batman
Super Smash Bros
Otherwise you can also use WiiBrand exploit
Or str2hax
Also Bannerbomb should work on 4.2
i dont have any of those games only wii sports
then you can use Bannerbomb exploit
ok so alot of things are being said rn, so what do i do first and how do i do it
first you can follow download this and put it on your SD card, make sure it doesn't already have a folder anmed "private":
https://bannerbomb.qoid.us/abds/abd6a_v200.zip
ok thats step 1
yes, now you need to download SysCheck, get it here: https://hbb1.oscwii.org/hbb/SysCheckHDE/SysCheckHDE.zip
then extract the zip, and copy the "boot.dol" file to your SD Card
ok i just need to help family but you can carry on say what i must do and ill do it when im back
after that you just need to go to the SD Card Menu on the main System Menu screen, and a message should appear asking to "load boot.dol/.elf"
it does
i did this now
about to do this
where
press the SD button on the main menu of the wii
like in bottom left
you making me scared😭
no no this has no risk don't worry 😂
its just running an application which allows us to see what iOS are installed on your system
must i choose yes?
yes
it should boot up syscheck
how long must i wait for that to appear?
it should show up immediately, try rebooting the wii and run it again
if it still doesn't work you can try to run Syscheck with the Wiibrand exploit instead of bannerbomb
also what's your SD card type? is it normal SD, SDHC or SDXC?
normal
ok im about to do this
the wii is on
try again to go on SD menu, and press Yes
it did it again
now explain this to me please
i will explain to you later, now i need to go eat
ok
but its basically same process
ill wait till u get bsck
@bright ledge im back, try using the original Syscheck instead of Syscheck HacksDen Edition, you can download it here: https://wiibrew.org/w/images/a/a7/SysCheck162.zip
Just delete the current "boot.dol" file from your SD, download this version, extract the ZIP and copy the "boot.elf" (not boot.dol) on the SD
ok
putting it in the wii
ok something is happing
ok now wht
must i update?
what is it showing now? can you send a picture?
i cant send a pic
but it used a white screen
and a green bar
and black writing
and then when it was done it brought me back to the wii menu
ah yes, it should have made the report on your sd card, plug it on your pc and check if it created a new file
should be named "sysCheck.csv"
perfect, now send it here on discord, with this we can check if any iOS on your Wii are modified
wait im gonna check the file, one sec
ok
it looks like the latest version of IOS 80 (used by System Menu 4.3) is already installed, so my guess is that someone must have downgraded this Wii back to 4.2 for some reason, 4.2 uses IOS 70
since it's already there it should be safe to reinstall the 4.2 system menu and then update the Wii
ok so what do i do now
follow this
but first do you know why it's like this? did you get the wii in this condition or you modded it in the past?
yes i got it in this condition
i am confused by the 2nd step
yes
is the 2nd last step the same like we did with the syscheck?
yes, however im unsure if you can install the menu that way or you need the homebrew channel first, because without the homebrew channel you do not have AHBPROT access
wait a second im gonna ask someone
ok
from your syscheck it looks like you already have cIOS, so it should be possible to install the system menu with the wad manager, but i want to make sure first
ok so what must i do?
wait, im gonna tell you, one sec
ok
@late rampart is this good? can we reinstall system menu? (because cIOS is already installed)
update syscheck and run it again because i could not understand shit on it
syscheck HDE cannot run, because IOS 58 is missing
but it's good, no ios is trucha patched etc,
syscheck modmii
install ios58
gotta get some context real quick, do they not have hbc?
no
all ios are stock version
no, the system menu is modified, we are reinstalling it, all IOS are stock, and IOS 80 is already installed
well, looks good to me
modified how though?
remember those patches that made you spoof the menu version to like 9999?
that prevents you from updating
but yes the syscheck is good, so you can proceed with the reinstall @bright ledge
ok but would it be the same proccess like we did with the boot.elf thing and got the csv file?
yes, you need to copy yawmME .elf file and replace syscheck one, the csv file was just a process to check the current condition of the system
after you copy the new elf file, just choose the SD as the wad location, and install the menu
what must i replace the syscheck.csv with?
nothing, it's not needed anymore, you can delete it
👍
ok the wii is blue now by the disc drive
you are installing the file?
i am assuming that is what it is doing
when you pressed yes on load elf / dol, did a screen like this appear?
you put the hackmii installer file instead of yawmee
wait did i send you wrong link?
no it's correct, you got it from here right? https://hbb1.oscwii.org/api/v3/contents/yawmME/yawmME.zip
try to delete the boot.elf, and copy over the boot.dol
i will try booting it on my wii, maybe they have the hackmii installer instead of yawmme in it by accident lol
i renamed it
yes you did good, idk why you got the hackmii installer instead of yawmME, try again by deleting the boot.elf on your sd, and copy the "boot.dol" instead
but if i put off my wii now will something happen?
this
and on the tv?
tv is blue
you said it showed this ^
yes
is this showing on tv?
no
k wait one sec
it is just blue
im gonna check what the boot.elf opens up for me
So would it be safe to turn the wii off? Or no?
yes it is
Ok
for me it's loading Yawm correctly
Does it matter which model it is?
no
wht must i delete?
let's hope it works
i go to the sd card icon right
yes
This is what it shows all the time
yes this is correct
I choose yes right
Ok it is on the yawm thing
it worked now?
yes good, now choose IOS 249
It is on that must i press A?
yes
Ok
then a screen will show asking what storage device to use, it should be on "Wii SD Slot"
no AHB access so the first menu will be different
ah right i forgot
just press A, then i think it will ask you to select an IOS
yes correct
It is on disable must i leave it like that before i click A?
press A again
A again?
yes install, press A again
Ok it is counting
now just wait
Press any button to continue it says
what is it saying? is it the warning?
Ok im back to the install page
then you can press home button to restart the wii
actually it will probably show a black screen because you don't have homebrew channel, in that case you can power it off and on again
press the home button
good, now try to update again
Must i try and update?
it should work without any problems
yes
Ok
is the update working?
