#Wii HDMI port mod with analog2hdmi
77 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Because i want a hdmi port on my wii?? Theres many reasons???
And i dont wanna spend $80 for a slight quality increase that i wont even notice
Would you rather me use the cheap wii2hdmi on amazon? Because everyone shits on those
its still better than this modchip
And $60 cheaper???
No shit its gonna be better but ive seen comparisons and imho its not worth it which is why im asking if this is a good cheap alternative that no one is answering
Not everyone is a power wii modder that cares about the miniscule details
Use component or composite cables lol, no need for HDMI
How do i find out both those questions
if you want higher resolution just use component and put 480p graphics
💀
bro your cable
is it composite or component
Bro i use a shitty wii2hdmi from amazon
I dont have those on my monitor
Do you have one of these cables? (It was very hard getting the photo as I didn't know where to find one so I had to put my phone behind the CRT while I couldn't see anything to take a picture of the PS1 cables lol)
And plug it into... where?
wow you got a crt lucky u
I have those cables idk what type they are i can always buy a composite cable if theyre cheap but is there a way to use the composite signal to add a hdmi port? Doesnt the analog2hdmi i linked support composite and convert it to hdmi ??
no just use composite/component
..
get component they are better
If you can't connect it to your monitor then use a reliable HDMI adapter, but not like the cheap ones on Amazon
I mean an external adapter, why would you hardmod the Wii just for that?
Because its easier and more convenient
its dangerous and unnecessary
harder and unconvenient
Dongles arent convenient lol
if you screw up the wii what u do
Buy another idfk
Ppl have done it before the exact method im asking abt theres just no documentation on it
Kk
Don't do this unless you really know what you're doing, you could ruin the Wii's hardware if something goes wrong
Then if it happens good luck fixing it
As opposed to the other mods for hdmi that are less risky ?
I think the best solutions in your case would be these:
- Buy an HDMI adapter (not Wii2HDMI) that is RELIABLE
- Buy a TV or monitor that supports composite or component (it's not necessarily super expensive: CRTs don't cost that much, at least where I live, the problem is that they take up a lot of space)
Why does the avehdmi even exist then
Idk
to trick ppl into spending money
Kk
So does anyone here have experience installing it?
Do you even know how to solder?
If not I'd recommend getting this.

Hyperkin's HD Cable for the Wii lets you conveniently play your favorite Wii titles on your HDTV. Ditch your composite AV cable and experience Wii gaming in full 480p and crisp, HD audio. Its 7 ft. in length allows for the best placement in your gaming area, suitable for family game night or part...
that's more expensive, well, tbh shipping for the converter is $20
also what's the difference between that and and wii2hdmi things?
just wanna get into hardware modding and this seems like a good cheap start
and i can solder atleast somewhat i've done it before with it working
why is this £50 in the uk 💀
