Offline GameCube covers

Section I - Setup

  1. Plug your SD card or USB drive into your computer and create a folder called Covers on the root of you device.

Section II - Downloading Covers

  1. Open and load your games into Gamecube Backup Manager.
  2. Navigate to the Covers tab that's in the top left corner and select it, then click Sync and Download covers (of all games listed) from the drop down menu. Just select a game to see the new covers you downloaded.

Section III - Verifying the covers downloaded

  1. Open "File Explorer" > GCBM folder, look for a folder called covers and go into it.
  2. You should see a folder called cache, go into that folder and you should see a "region" folder (e.g. US, EN, DE etc.). Enter the "region" folder.
  3. Once in the "region" folder, you should see 4 folders named 2d, 3d, Disc, and Full. It's recommended to use the 3d covers for USB Loader GX.
  4. Go into the 3d folder and you should see the covers for your games.

Section IV - Transferring the covers

  1. Still in the 3d folder, select all the .png cover files and copy them into the covers folder that's on the root of your SD card or USB drive.

Section V - Displaying the covers

  1. safely eject and insert the SD card or USB drive into your Wii. If using a USB HDD, ensure it is plugged into Port 0.
  2. Launch "The Homebrew Channel" (HBC) > "USB Loader GX".
  3. In USB Loader GX, go to Settings, then go to "Page 2" > Custom Paths > 3D Cover Path.
  4. When the "3D Cover Path" screen appears, you should see the root of your SD card or USB drive. If needed, change the drive by clicking the middle buttom.
  5. In the "3D Cover Path" screen, locate and select the "covers" folder.
  6. Press "OK" to set the path and then click "OK" on the next screen as well.
  7. Back out to the main USB Loader GX screen.
