I have a wii that usb loader was freezing on. I was able to clone the hard drive and now usb loader gx opens and shows all the games. for some reason it sends me back to the menu and reloads usb loader when I try opening up a game. i tried reinstalling all the cios files, resetting the settings for the loader, redownloading a game, changing the game port to all available ports and nothing has worked. the hard drive has 2 partitions on it. one partition is ntfs wich has wiiflow usb loader ect. the other partition is wbfs wich windows cant see. i got the wbfs manager and i can see all the wii games are in there. the sd card is fat32. originaly the wii was working fine and the external hdd got unplugged mid game. thats when this started. i thought i fixed it after clonning the drive but now none of the games work. i was wondering if anyone can help me with this. i ran a sys check and i will leave the file with this post .

1. Get the Hackmii installer here, then follow the guide on the page to install and update the homebrew channel to version 1.1.2 by pressing the install option when in the hackmii installer:
https://wii.guide/hackmii
2. You have a number of wasted cIOS. Please delete these specific IOS to avoid confusing a loader and save storage on your Wii's NAND.
Download and install Wii Mod Lite, then launch it via Homebrew Channel:
https://wii.guide/wiimodlite
Select IOSs from the Main Menu in Wii Mod Lite.
Navigate to each of these IOS and delete them:
IOS 202, 222, 223, 224, 236, 245, 246 and 247
3. I recommend you use the Windows program, ModMii. It has many Wii modding tools or "activities" built in.
Check your SD/USB for a WAD folder. If you have it, please delete it before continuing.
Run Syscheck and test all IOS on your Wii by following this guide:
https://wii.guide/syscheck
Download and install ModMii to your windows PC
https://modmii.github.io/
Launch Modmii Classic (not ModMii Skin)
Type I Agree and press enter
Type SU and press enter to select the Syscheck Updater Activity.
Provide it the syscheck.csv file you just made by dragging the syscheck.csv file from the root of your SD/USB and dropping it into the ModMii window.
It might ask you if you want to remove\overwrite RiiConnect24 in IOS 31. You can say no.
It'll list many wad files that it will download, select Y = Yes, Generate Guide and Begin Downloading
Follow the generated guide that opened in your web browser closely.
Then install the WADs using a wad manager like yawmME:
https://oscwii.org/library/app/yawmme
+ After you install the WAD files using a WAD manager, you can delete it from your WAD folder. They're installed to the Wii's system memory so there's no reason to keep it on your SD/USB.
+Don't forget to install the stub files in root:/wad/stubs/ after you install the other wad files.
i have done everything you wrote and nothing seems to work. also whenever i boot the wii and press homebrew or wii it boots into the hackmii installer even after removing it from the sd card. i will send another sys check file with this post. hpoefully we can find a solution to this.
Syscheck looks fine and i assume you mean it you boot into bootmii
no when i turn on the wii i have the options for wii or homebew. homebrew sends me to a black screen and wii sends me to the installer for homebrew and i have to back out of it and it sends me to homebew then. also the gameport is 249. idk if it has to be different i tried changing it before and it didnt help.
Do you boot into this screen
yes wii sends me to the install newer version of homebrew screen and clicking homebrew sends me to a black screen
Okay, that screen is bootmii lol and also is the sd card FAT32 with the partition style MBR and a 32kb cluster size?
Okay, open disk management on your PC, find the USB drive and send a screenshot like this image
disk 3
this is the hdd sorry i send you the sd card
the hdd 512gb partition is wbfs i can only see the files in wbfs manager
this is what i see in wbfs manager
Wtf, okay first off the usb hdd need to also be FAT32 with a single primary MBR partition table and a 32kb cluster size
the wii has an option to urn off multipe partitions so should i turn that off and then would all the files be on one partition? also the wii was modded in 2012 so if i change the setting to go to one partition and format to fat 32 and transfer the files over would that fuck any of the save data
It's best to use ONLY FAT32 with the partition style MBR and a 32kb cluster size and no it would mess up anything
Just backup the data on the HDD before you reformat so you don't lose the games
howcome the wii boots into the hackmii installer tho what do i have to do to stop that
Can you take a video of everything happening
yes ill send it soon right now im testing out one game to see if it works because when i went to transfer the games using wii manager it didnt work and the ones that did work it said they were corrupted
Probably a bad dump then
thats what happens whenever i try to load a game im so baffled at this point i have been trying since 10am to fix this
Yo wtf lmao @nimble mulch @elfin plume have y'all seen this before
Seen what
thats with the harddrive that has 2 partitions on it the wbfs partition with the games on it and the other partiotion
Wii is only gonna read the first partition
i cant get the games off of the wbfs hdd unless you know a way
wii mod wasnt letting me
You should be able to transfer the games to your pc
With Wii backup manager
when i do that 6 games will transfer and the rest of the games are red and wont transfer
im trying it again tho hopefully it works
this happens and they wont trasfer
im trying wii fusion to transfer but its making them iso foles is that fine
i cant find a way to transfer them over wii backup manager isnt working
neither is wii fusion
That’s odd. I wonder if something happened to the drive
how do i get the wii to stop booting into hack me installer i removed it from the ds card and its still doing it where else can the file be
I’m not really sure why but no matter what software I use I can’t transfer the game files over from the 512 partition. I think those files are corrupt and that’s why the Wii is not loading them. The save data is on the Wii tho. Also after updating the home brew channel the Wii boots into the installer for home brew every time even after removing the file so idk how to get rid of that but it can’t be that hard the files hiding somewhere. After it loads into the installer you just exit out then your on the home brew channel. Also I tried installing a game and it’s not showing up but I think that’s because I’m missing a step. I think all that needs to happen is the games need to be redownload into the correct folder and it will work then.
Is it possible to forget about the old drive and use a new hard drive and redownload the games and access the old save data
Yes, but this time make it only FAT32 with the partition style MBR and a 32kb cluster size
Also what does the files on the sd card look
It boots into the hackmii installer on launch?
You probably set it to autoboot in priiloader for some reason
@nimble mulch, Yeah, it says they don't have the homebrew channel or bootmii installed lol but when they leave the hackmii installer they boot into the HBC lmao
I’ll try later this week and let you know how it goes
It boots into bootmii but when I click Wii or homebrew it goes into hackmii I’ll send a vid of the sd card files prob tomorrow
i fixed the hackwii booting isue just now
just to make sure you download the wbfs file put it in a folder callled the gamename then game id in [] then you put that into the wbfs folder. do the thing with the cios files in dx2 and then the game should show up
im not sure whats going on i tried installing the game with the sd card and the ssd but both arnt showing up. ill send some screenshots of what everything looks like. am i missing a step or whats going on
disk 3 is the ssd
You can use Rufus (https://rufus.ie) on a Windows machine to easily format an external hard drive for use with your Wii.
You need these settings:
- Turn on
List USB Hard Drivesunder Advanced drive properties, and select the correct device at the top
- Boot selection:
Non bootable - Partition scheme:
MBR - File System:
FAT32/Large FAT32
You may also want to turn offCreate extended label and icon files, found under Advanced formatting options, as to avoid your hard drive getting plagued by the Rufus icon (it's harmless)
Rufus is a small application that creates bootable USB drives, which can then be used to install or run Microsoft Windows, Linux or DOS. In just a few minutes, and with very few clicks, Rufus can help you run a new Operating System on your computer...
Thank you I will try it when I get a chance
it worked thank you all of you for your help
