Also are you using an sd card, usb HDD or a USB flash drive

fleet vine
hoary estuary
fleet vine
#

Yes

hoary estuary
#

That might be the main problem because flash drives are not recommended, they tend to cause problems by getting corrupted or not working at all

hoary estuary
# fleet vine Yes

The only reason why i say that is because the ios's are correct besides you not have bootmii and priiloader installed.

fleet vine
#

But I can’t use an sd cuz I don’t have a reader

hoary estuary
fleet vine
#

Yeah I literally went and bought one and it just kept glitching on my pc😂

any of you can check if there is a problem with the ios settings

#

??

#

@bleak fog Did you update the cIOS's and install priiloader?

fleet vine
hoary estuary
# fleet vine what hard drive would work for this?

USB Sticks/flash drives are not recommended to use as they often cause problems. It is recommended that you use an HDD. SSDs are also compatible but wont give you any more benefits of an HDD on a Wii. If you need recommendations for a cheap HDD, here’s a few

fleet vine
hoary estuary
# fleet vine will i need to reformat them or partition them down to 32gigs?

Yeah, it's recommended to be FAT32, with the partition style MBR and a 32kb cluster size

You can use Rufus (https://rufus.ie) on a Windows machine to easily format an external hard drive for use with your Wii.
You need these settings:

  • Turn on List USB Hard Drives under Advanced drive properties, and select the correct device at the top
  • Boot selection: Non bootable
  • Partition scheme: MBR
  • File System: FAT32 / Large FAT32
fleet vine
#

sorry for all the questions im just fairly new to this

hoary estuary
fleet vine
#

yeah but when i partitioned this one thumbdrive it just shrank it

hoary estuary
#

The wii can read FAT, NTFS and WBFS but it's recommended just to be FAT32

hoary estuary
fleet vine
#

64 gigs

hoary estuary
#

And what did it "shrink" to?

fleet vine
#

32 gigs

hoary estuary
#

Do you still have it

fleet vine
#

no i had to return it

#

im broke so i needed to to get the sd card lol

hoary estuary
#

Lol it sounds like it had multiple partitions

hoary estuary
fleet vine
#

yeah

hoary estuary
#

What's the capacity?

fleet vine
#

32 gigs

hoary estuary
#

Did you format it to FAT32, with the partition style MBR and a 32kb cluster size

fleet vine
#

nah i just checked that it was on fat32 on my pc then put usbloader, cios, and priiloader on it

#

and put it in the wii

hoary estuary
#

Were the apps there when you went into HBC

fleet vine
#

yeah

hoary estuary
#

Okay, so it's MBR, do you know the cluster size

fleet vine
#

nada

hoary estuary
#

Okay, it's probably fine

#

Are you still having issues

fleet vine
#

yeah, im not sure if i can load games off of the sd card, so i just put the games on a thumbdrive and it still had the usbloader issue

hoary estuary
#

Second, there's multiple things that would cause games not to show up

fleet vine
#

the games show up they just dont launch

#

and do they work off usb loader when they are on the sd card?

hoary estuary
#

Black screen or does it take back to the wii menu or HBC?

fleet vine
#

takes me back to hbc

hoary estuary
# fleet vine takes me back to hbc

Do this
To help troubleshoot your issue please run Syscheck and test all IOS on your Wii by following this guide:
https://wii.guide/syscheck

When it's done it will generate and display a syscheck.csv file.

Power down the Wii and insert the SD or USB into a PC. Drag and drop the syscheck.csv file from the root of your SD or USB into chat.

You can also upload the report and link the URL to chat or take photos of the entire report if you don’t have a USB or a SD reader on your PC

fleet vine
#

i did

hoary estuary
#

An updated one?

fleet vine
#

no

#

the one at the top of this thread

#

but i did everything the same off the website

hoary estuary
#

Make a new one then post the file here because you install priiloader

fleet vine
#

ok

hoary estuary
#

Also did you install bootmii

#

And NAND backup

fleet vine
#

Nope just priiloader

hoary estuary
#

Okay, i'd recommend installing bootmii and making a NAND backup

fleet vine
#

What is a nand backup?

hoary estuary
#

Basically your Wii's memory

#

Okay, do you know how to load priiloader

fleet vine
#

i already did

#

hold reset while turning on the wii and selecting the options the website said to

#

after loading it

hoary estuary
#

Okay, go down to Load/Install File

fleet vine
#

Do I need to have internet on for this?

hoary estuary
#

No

fleet vine
#

Ok I’m here

hoary estuary
#

Okay, now look for the file called boot.elf

fleet vine
#

There isn’t one

hoary estuary
#

And you scrolled down?

fleet vine
hoary estuary
#
  1. Get the Hackmii installer here: https://bootmii.org/download/ Extract the .zip file, copy the HackMii Installer folder to your apps folder. You can make a folder called apps if it does not exist already. Then run the HackMii Installer via the homebrew channel to install Bootmii to IOS and boot2 if you can.
  2. After installing Bootmii, follow this guide to use Bootmii to create a NAND backup: https://wii.guide/bootmii
#

Follow this

fleet vine
#

Ight I’ll lyk when I’m done

hoary estuary
#

Ok

fleet vine
#

Wait there is a section on the priiloader menu that says bootmii iOS should I look at that or nah?

hoary estuary
#

No

fleet vine
#

Ok

#

I was only able to install it as iOS

hoary estuary
#

That's fine

#

Install it

hoary estuary
fleet vine
#

It’s almost done

#

I’m doing the nand

hoary estuary
#

Oh I'd recommend verifying the backup

fleet vine
#

I am

hoary estuary
#

Okay cool

#

When it's fully complete, it's recommended to copy nand.bin and keys.bin from the root of your SD card to a folder on tou computer for safe keeping

fleet vine
#

Ight

#

Should I just put some games on my sd card in a wbfs folder and run them in usb loader now?

hoary estuary
fleet vine
#

Ok

fleet vine
hoary estuary
#

Just copy

fleet vine
#
