Mario kart connexion

I have Mario kart Wii and Mario kart Deluxe.
When I try to go into the Wiimmfi connection, the game freezes and my Wii becomes unusable.
I don't know what to do to be able to play online...
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but it does not change anything
