Your external drive might be formatted to WBFS file system. Windows file explorer won't be able to read it so it will ask you to format it.

You can try using Wii Backup Manager to see if it recognizes the games
https://wii.guide/wiibackupmanager

I put USB Loader GX in another usb and tried to put it in, but idk how to actually install it, I dont think that connecting a usb with the app will install it automatic

#

I did

static walrus
#

It also explains how to install it

vapid dew
#

It says just plug it in and go to homebrew

#

I did, nothing new appeared

static walrus
#

Do you have the homebrew channel set to the correct source

vapid dew
#

I dont know

#

How do I see that?

static walrus
#

In the HBC, you can press 1 on the wiimote to select the source that HBC uses to check for apps

My wii was modded like 10 years ago, I have no idea how to do anything apart from playing games in it

#

#

but all the other apps are gone

#

How can I put usb loader gx with the rest?

#

Like, I cant access the external drive with wbfs so I dont know how to put the app with the rest of them

#

Is there any way to see the files and folders in the external drive?

static walrus
#

I don't know what you mean

#

Just put them on the same drive as your other apps

vapid dew
#

Yeah thats the problem

#

I cant access the drive with the other apps

#

Windows cant do it

#

It doesnt recognize wbfs

#

To use the file explorer

static walrus
#

I didn't think you can put apps on a wbfs drive

vapid dew
#

Then Idk how they are installed then

#

Maybe they are in the sd card

static walrus
#

Your SD?

#

Normally apps go on SD

vapid dew
#

I dont know if it has one, I think so

#

oh

#

Then i just have to put the app there right?

static walrus
#

Yeah

vapid dew
#

Ok, tysm

#

Imma do it rn

#

:D

#

oh btw @static walrus , how do I add a channel for usb loader gx? When I play games I always have to go to HBC and launch the app from there

Put WAD files in a folder called WAD on the root of your SD or USB.

Then install it using a wad manager like Wii Mod Lite:
https://wii.guide/wiimodlite

After you install a WAD file using a WAD manager, you can delete it from your WAD folder. They're installed to the Wii's system memory so there's no reason to keep it on your SD/USB.

I put the apps in the folder and the wad file in the wad folder and this appeares when I open HBC
