Old Wii (BootMii as boot2) can overheat and their GPU can be screwed because of WiiConnect24?

It is known to cause issues if it being on standby for a considerable time

not only can it cause issues with the gpu

but also damage the bluetooth or wifi module

which causes the wii to boot to a black screen when either are damaged

that usually isn't enough

have heard of somehow getting an external fan for the wii

which would be blowing while in standby

So is it not recommended to leave Wii’s in standby? Never heard of this before. That’s scary

How do you tell the difference? I have 2 gamecube Wiis. I leave both on standby for weeks

I have the newer black wii, and i always turn it off (hold power until red) you wanna use stanby mode ti continue your game process or what is the benefit of standby?

Do you know if bootmii is installed to boot 2 on any of the Wiis

I just like to see the slot illumination when the DLC arrives from RiiConnect...

When you first ran the hackmii installer, did it say in purple “can only be installed as iOS” or did it say in green “can be installed”
